I just made PS for Ohana's. It will be DD 6th BD. I was way too late to get in on CRT(although I will try when we get there).

Anyway, please tell me about any Ohana experiences. Can you see the fireworks from MK. I have never been to the Poly(shame on me), but I am really looking forward to this.

Thansk for anything you can tell me.

P.S. We will have 8 in our group.

you can see the fireworks if you are by the window...our table was behind/beside the fire pit however and out of the other "action" so I don't know about the view from closer to the other end infront of the pit where the races and stuff take place.

the food was good, loved the wings and the lime honey dressing on the salad is great. the meat we got was not dry at all , steak med. like i like it, the shrimp pack a little spicey kick....we wouldn't go back simply becasue we just do not eat enough to warrent the cost. most places we split ameal and had plenty which of course you can't do at an all you can eat. the "cousin" who waited on us was shocked we only got a single plate each and most around us were eating a lot so it was worth it for them.

I think it is fun, especially if you have little kids and sit closer to the action..we were late due to the transportation ( look us almost an hr and 1/2 from PC)so couldn't really gripe about the seats!

and it seemed they were seating large parties near the entrance, which is not near the windows. It was my first time there and I enjoyed it but jann1033 was right. If you are not a big eater, or not very hungry, it will cost alot. My 6 yo DD ordered Mac and cheese off the Kona Cafe menu, and it cost me 9.99!!

The chicken wings are really good and we had two bowls of them, and the salad. The dressing is yummy. the fried rice is just ok, and I don't eat shrimp, but the rest of my party said the shrimp wontons were really good.

I just did a review of this.

Try this link! I hope it works. If not, look for Dining reviews MLK weekend. Pt. 1.

We were there in Oct. and we loved it! This summer we are taking the kids.
Be sure that you PS is near the time of the fireworks. It was 8:00pm in Oct. The best seat for them is on the left hand side as your facing the entrance of the restaurant. Just tell them before your seated you really want a good view of the castle, they seem really accomidating.
:wave2:

This is one of our favorite restaurants!!!:Pinkbounc :bounce: You will love it. I always request a table by the window (so I can see fireworks) and I have always been accomodated. My DS10 LOVES the coconut races and the hula hoop competition. The food is out of this world. You can request your steak cooked any way you like it and they will get it perfect. Be sure to do this when you sit down, so they will know in advance. We like our steak rare. The shrimp, turkey and pork are also first class! you will not be disappointed! :sunny:

Wow! Thanks for all of the great info and suggestions. I will have w/ me my FIL,MIL and DH, who like to eat! I am sure the inflated price is because it is "entertaining" as well.
It should be fun.
Fireworks are at 7:00 that night and we have a PS for 6:40. I will request a window for DD-it is her 6th BD.

Now I really can't wait. It is 10 degrees!

actually most of the dinner buffets are about the same price ( trails end is cheaper but I think the rest are in the same ball park) so you do get more for your money in that regard...

Our Ps was for 6:20 and we barely got seated before the 7 pm fireworks..I heard 2 cms talking and one said Ohana's is one of the few Rest at wdw that are always full so if possible you might want to get an earlier PS. when we asked for a window seat the hostess said most people that are seated pre fireworks and have a window seat are there for the fireworks and don't leave till they are over so if you want a good view of the fireworks and be by the pit/activities I might get it earlier if possible. we were in the second row from the window and could see pretty well expect for a pesky tree but could see the castle if I hunkered down which was nice...depends on how "great " a view you would be happy with. the fireworks from there was something I *really* wanted to do so I wish we had gotten there earlier, it might have been a better view although I was happy to get any view at all! some seats I don't think would be able to see at all since they are all the way across the seating area.

We also enjoy Ohana.

It's a loud, festive, fun kind of place. Between the strolling uklele player, the coconut races, hula-hoop hijinks and the occasional outburst from the servers at the fire pit, you'll leave feeling like you got a show in addition to dinner. :D
