I have heard there are games and things for the kids and families to do. THe food keeps getting mixed reviews but I would interested in hearing what you all think?

'Ohana has an "MC" who invite people (though mostly children do it) to participate in hula contests and pineapple races through the restaurant at set times throughout the evening. When we went last, she also sang some "Hawaiian" songs on a eukele.

It's a loud, bustling place.

I haven't been back since the new menu so I can't comment on the food too much.

I loved 'OHana when we went on our adults only trip. It was my favorite meal of the week. We even ate at Le Cellier and although I totally enjoyed that, I enjoyed 'OHana even more. On the other side of the coin, DH and DS were not as impressed as I was. Our table was wonderful, overlooking the lagoon with a view all the way to the castle. We watched Wishes over desert. But DH and DS did not love the food, and they are in no hurry to return.
If I asked, I think they would go, but it would not be their first choice.
I went a few months later with DS and his family and we had a wonderful dinner. We had young children with us, 4 and 6, and they had a wonderful time with the entertainment. Again, I thought the food was really good.
I really enjoyed "Ohana and I would love to return again.

We did the Ohana's Best Friend breakfast in Oct. They passed out maracas to all the kids and they had a little "parade" around the restaurant with the characters. Lilo, Stich, Pluto, Mickey, and Minnie were there. My kids really liked it, and we all enjoyed the food. My husband thought the food was OK, but he isn't a big breakfast person. They serve it family style, so it is brought to you table, and the servers did a great job at returning to see if we wanted more of a specific item. I don't know if you were looking for breakfast or not, but I hope this helps. Have fun!!:yay:

Hey-that "Hawaiian" song is really Hawaiin. Why the quotes? I didn't know the song, but one of my kids knew the lyrics and hand motions! Who knows what they're doing all day in school! Anyway all my kids 12,10,6 and 4 loved it-atmosphere and food. We had a great time and will go back.

We're going for breakfast in August, I hope I can get my kids excited for it:)

My ds6 will eat all the food, my dd2 is a bit picky- anyone know if they will offer a kids menu (i seem to recall something on here regarding it and how the poster was upset that the server wouldn't help on this).

We were there Friday 1/11. They had coconut races where the kids bump a coconut with a broom. They also had hula lessons and a parade where the kids play maracas. That was all within 1.5 hours. It was great food. We loved it! The kids get leis for participating.

My kids were 7 and 10 when we went last summer. We all had a really good time. DH and I really enjoyed the food, and the kids found plenty to eat even if they didn't just "love" anything. What they did love was the entertainment. They had a ball with the hula, coconut races, etc. The view and the overall ambiance are really nice, even if it is loud. It's a totally different kind of loud than what you get in the parks. :lmao:

If you like meat and more meat this is the place to go.

I enjoyed their potato casserole and vegetables. The salad was fantastic with the honey lime vinagrette. And I heard the sweet and sour shrimp was good too. I don't like shrimp.

Not to mention the bread pudding dessert!

Because my Hawaiian friend said the songs we heard that night didn't sound Hawaiian (he'd never heard them) and that very few things cast off as authentic are (his biggest pet peeve are Hawaiian sandwiches - he always says that 'throwing a pineapple on it doesn't make it Hawaiian! :rotfl: )

Remember that not the same singer/songs are there every night - perhaps you got a taste of an authentic song. Doesn't mean we did. :confused3
