I'm a die-hard, stay on property type!!

But I'm helping my friend plan her trip and her dad booked they Nick hotel. So I was looking for some input. Mostly about their busing system. I've been reading the site. And downloaded the schedule for June (uh, its September Nickelodeon...time to update that link!).

Anywho, what kind of experience has anyone had? I know you have to wear a bracelet. Is it really so awesome that people try to sneek on all the time?

Any feedback, stories, ideas are appreciated.

TIA

Hi
Weve stayed there (this kids love this place!), the wristbands are for the pools and resort not the buses, the buses run once to each place, when we went there was one pick up for animal kingdom around 5 and if you missed it then tough, i think thats the way they all work, its not a loop if you know what i mean, they go morning lunchtime and evening, or they did when we stayed there anyhow, and they were very busy, we had to put our name down the night before to catch the bus.
We only used it once as we had a car which we found easier, this place is great for a short break but dont know if i could take longer than a few days there, the pools are fun but crowded, character brekkie is good, rooms are ok nothing special but fine for your needs.

We stayed at Nick Hotel during April vacation. I got a deal through Orbitz or Expedia for only like $98 or less a night. Remember, once you get there you have a $28 a night "resort fee". The poor woman at the counter looked afraid to tell me, but I knew about it. I was then offered the chance to "upgrade" to a spongebob room for like $25 more a night-just so we could see a pic of spongebob? No thanks. She then offered two diferent themes and we choose Jimmy Neutron.

I personally thought the room was awesome. We faced the parking lot, but were right on the corner to the main pool. The master bed was AWESOME. It was sooooooooooooooooooooooo nice to have my own space, as opposed to a room a disney where i have to share a full size bed with my dd13.

The boys had bunkbeds and dd13 took the sofa bed. I thought housekeeping was awesome and the only problem I had with the room was the heating vent in the boys room leaked. But we had POURING rain during the night.

The kids and I would return in a heartbeat. My only complaint is the food court, or lack thereof. There really isn't much in choice of options. We did the buffet twice, but not the character one. FOod selection was decent for the price.

We didn't take the busses, but I do remember being told if we decided to use them we needed to sign up the night before.

Oh, they have 3d movies, but they are really only like 12-15 minutes each. I don't remember how much one movie was but i got my dd13 the "unlimited braclet" for like $19 and we only went to 3 or so movies.

If you have any other questions please feel free to ask.

PS Despite being there during April vacvation we never had problems with overcrowding at the pool.

PSS I'm not sure why there are so many haters of the Nick on this site, I saw nothing but happy campers while there.

We have stayed there two times for a week each time and absolutely loved it. But then, we didn't try to do Disney or a park at the time. What I observed happening is the people who do the parks have a rotten time because other people are doing the same thing and it gets way over crowded when tired cranky people try to all relax by the pool. After about 5 lots of folks are pushign themselves to enjoy the activities when all they really want to do is go back to the room. If you hang out at the pool during the weekday, it was really great. The weekends are another story, the pools are way overcrowded on Sat and Sun. Yes, there are too many rooms for the pool size. There is a mass slime at I think 4 each day that smells like green apple water. Yes the pool shuts down when accidents are discovered. With a pool full of kids, it's going to happen. We never tried to take the busses. The parks are so close, a car was quicker and easier. The food was pricey and breakfast was expensive for kids. But the rooms have a kitchenette and we went that route.

We stayed there two years ago in May. The pool was over crowed and not heated. They had problems with the heating system. The room were not great and everything was overpriced. But we knew that when we booked the room. We went there for the kids not the adults. The kids loved it during the day with the pool games and then the shows at night. Our family was picked to go on a show and my son got slimed. He still talks about how great it was at the Nick Hotel.
