We are 2 adults with 8:40 pm dinner reservations on a night when MK closes at 8 pm. Is there a place near Narcoossee's where we can watch the fireworks and/or catch the water parade before dinner? I'm hoping for a cocktail while we do this if it's not asking too much? And finally, if MK closes at 8 pm, when would the fireworks and electric parade go off? Lots of questions I know, but we've not been before....thanks! :3dglasses

You can get a drink from the bar at Narcoossees and sit outside on the deck and watch the fireworks before you check in for your meal. Its a very nice place to see the fireworks, they play the music too.

Also, I'm pretty sure the water pageant hits all the bay lake resorts with the GF probably being the first since it is stored in the canal between GF and MK. Might do some searching at the WDW site for more information and times. We always watch the water pageant from the beach at FW along with the Fireworks and it's a must since seeing the Fireworks from a distance is the best. When they do the double FW on July 4th and Dec 31st IIRC the best place is from the beach at the Poly since you can see both w/o having to turn around if in the MK.

Wishes will most likely be at 8pm on that night unless there are special events. Fireworks times do vary

But the Electrical Water Pageant always begins at the Polynesian as it did from the very beginning of WDW. The GF is next in order and that's normally 9:15 or 9:20...can't remember which.

On nights that Wishes is at 9pm, the Pageant starts in front of the Polynesian as soon as Wishes ends and then moves on to the GF probably around 9:35 or so.

So you will probably be seated well after Wishes and before the Pageant.

If you do get a drink from the bar, there is a deck outside the foyer or you could possibly walk out on the dock. But avoid the wraparound deck because if you stand there you will block the view of those already enjoying dinner in Narcoossee's.

Have fun!

Your point about "avoiding the wraparound deck" is a good one because we have had window seats twice and both times after a few minutes everyone goes out there and blocks the view from the windows, but it is still a great spot both for the food and the view. Unfortunately, it has gotten quite pricey. It is right up there with the CG. :( Thank goodness for the DDE discount!! :thumbsup2

The problem with avoiding the wraparound deck is that if you are eating when the show starts, the CM's send you out there to watch the fireworks!
Virtually every time we've gone to Narcoossee's, there have been too many folks out on the deck for them to avoid blocking the inside table view.

We've not dined there during the fireworks for some years. But I hope the CMs are trying to direct guests toward the larger porch/deck off the foyer or even to the dock.

I have noticed those soft theater style "ropes" to block off either end of the wraparound deck. Hopefully guests don't ignore them.

Those ropes may be there to keep non-Narcoossee folks from wandering over.
Last meal there, we were all invited out to the wrap-around for the fireworks. Was packed solid of course, leaving no room to get out of anyone's way. Couldn't see every table but all the window tables I saw had gotten up and joined the crowd outside.
It would be nice if they could find some other way to handle things--

Then I bet you're right about the ropes.

But I agree that is would be nice if there was a different way to handle it. So many of the tables do have good views that it is a shame that everyone needs to interrupt dinner. In the "good old days," I don't recall it being a problem. I know we didn't have anyone blocking our view nor did we go outside.
