Hello all,

I would like to take our family to Narcoossee's on our arrival night. I think it would make a great first meal, and know we would all be thrilled with the menu choices. (What better way to start our WDW vacation than with steak, lobster, and almond-crusted cheesecake? :thumbsup2 ) We could get a later ADR (say, 7:30?) in order to catch the fireworks and water pageant at 9. (We're going in late October.)

We're flying from the west with a 3/hour time difference, so I figure this will be our best day to go for the fireworks, since my little ones shouldn't be melting down. Even at 9 pm Florida time, it will feel like 6-ish to them.

So my questions are:

1. Am I correct that the Magic Kingdom music is piped into Narcoossee's for the fireworks, as it is for California Grill?

2. How easy is it to see the fireworks and water pageant from Narcoossee's? Should we make a special table request?

3. Will we feel comfortable bringing our little ones to Narcoossee's? At the time of our trip, we'll have a 15-month old, a 36-month old, and 2 older teens (who are great helps with the babies). I realize that it is a Signature Dining restaurant. We do take our kids to restaurants pretty frequently, and are very conscientious parents in terms of making sure our children are as minimally disruptive as possible.

Thanks for any input you can share. :)

1) They usually do pipe in the sound.
2) There are only a few window seats for fireworks. Can't request until at podium.
3) All depends upon how they can withstand 1-1/2 to 2 hrs of meals.

1. Yep
2. There's a balcony direct surrounding the restaurant and also directly on the water that you can view the parade from and you can see the fireworks from any table that you can see MK whici is most of the tables anyway.
3. My average meal time there is 2 hours, sometimes longer sometimes shorter. Almost everytime we get appys, entree and dessert. It's usually only two of us and we don't get any drinks. When we did have our party of 6 there, time grew to longer and when the parade and fireworks are going, even longer. So if they can handle sitting for that long without a doubt, then you're OK. But if they're not, I appreciate your concern for others because a signature meal with someone's else's screaming kid by my side :sad2:

If you wanted somewhere to view MKs special events that's more kid friendly, I definitely recommend Ohana. It's extremely kid friendly, about 1/3 the price of Narcoossee's and very very very good also and filling.

I asked about getting a window table when we were at the podium, I was told it would be about a 20 minute wait. We decided to take whatever came first, and were immediately seated in a non-window seat. I was thankful we didn't have a window seat, since when the fireworks began, a large group of people were standing on the balcony in front of the windows. The people at the window seats clearly couldn't see anything, and they went outside too. We were far enough back to be able to look over the peoples' heads.

Hello all,

So my questions are:

1. Am I correct that the Magic Kingdom music is piped into Narcoossee's for the fireworks, as it is for California Grill? Yes

2. How easy is it to see the fireworks and water pageant from Narcoossee's? Should we make a special table request? No we sat could see the parade from our upper level seat (near the bar). It won't matter. To see Wishes, head out to the deck like everyone else.

3. Will we feel comfortable bringing our little ones to Narcoossee's? There were plenty of little ones there. Enjoy.

We did Narcoossee's exactly as you plan too. Hands down best meal and meal experience of the trip and a wonderful start at Disney. Our 5yo loved the parade. He and grandma went out to the deck to watch. I didn't go out until it was time for Wishes.

Thanks for the feedback everybody! :)

That's helpful to plan on about 2 hours for the meal.

And 'Ohana is another good idea that I had not considered. We're planning to go there another night, but much earlier at night. Hmm, something to think about.

Septbaby, thank you for sharing your positive experience!

We just did this last week. Don't worry about getting a window table. We just walked out the back & watched the fireworks. Then went back in to eat. I did want to catch the water pageant too, but we missed it enjoying our yummy desserts! The almond cheesecake was so GOOD! My DS2.5 thoroughly enjoyed his make your own s'mores dessert. We did go down to the GF beach after dinner & was able to see the pageant at a distance at Poly.
You will be fine dining at Narcoossee's w/young kids. We took DS there when he was 19 mos old & we had a good time. We made sure to go back there this past trip last week. There's enough noise that kids don't disrupt neighbors as easily.

We had the same experience except we had a window seat and a very large crowd of people just stood and blocked all the windows  so everyone in the window seats has to go outside too if they want to see the fireworks. There was no crowd really for the water pageant so we at least got a good view of that.
