We're staying at HOJOs for the first time and I was wondering if you could just pick up muffins and quick breakfast stuff at a counter or something like that without having to eat in. Or better yet, pick up brekky stuff the night before.

Does anyone know about takeout?

If you pick up their menu at Mimi's across the street from HOJO's, you can order take out, then go across the street and pick it up. Their muffins are outstanding, but bear in mind that HOJO's has a small, but very well equiped gift shop in one of the buildings near the front of the hotel that carries individ containers of cereal, small cont's of milk, juice etc, as well as danishes. If you want a basic breakfast, it might be cheaper to grab something at the gift shop, then take it back to the hotel room to eat, rather than eating out, then have a big lunch at DL. Millies can be hit and miss on service and the quality of the food so you've been advised of this. Hope that this helps you out.

Isn't Mimi's Cafe right beside HOJO's? I didn't know I needed to cross the street.

You also mention Millies. That is another restaurant isn't it?

I don't want to eat at the restaurant, I just want some muffins or something like that to eat in room for breakfast.

oh yeah they got it down pat with the take out....they give you everything you need...napkins, plastic silverware, ketchup, whatever and yes you can get muffins and their great carrot spice cake bread too...

DH went and got us some muffins our last day in November. It was a quick trip and we did not order ahead of time. He just went across the street and picked them up. Mimi's is across the street, but it isn't a busy street so the walk is very easy.

The muffins werer reallly good and it made me wish that we had gotten them more than just the one day. They came in a nice take out container with whipped butter. Not sure if you can pick them up the night before or not.

I'm glad you had a good experience with Mimi's takeout. Ours was a bit different. LOL! When we were there a few weeks ago, we got take-out 2 or 3 times. The norm was for them to forget to put 3-ish things in the bag. The first time DH headed back over to Mimi's from HOJO 3 times to get the stuff that was left out. I know...it should have only been once. We should have checked better and not assumed. ;) We were better about checking the next time(s) before leaving the restaurant, and always had to ask for things. The food is really good and reasonably priced, though. Mmmmm, I could go for the Greek Chicken Salad about now. :)

You won't be able to order a full breakfast the night before but you can definitely get some muffins to take to your room. That's not a problem at all. Of course, the later you go the less you may have in way of selection, once it starts to get late they stop making the fresh bread/muffins, at least that's how it is at our Mimi's.

Millie's is good for breakfasts but yes, the service there is lower quality then Mimi's. I thought the food we had was very good tho. :)

I'm not sure, I want to say that a 4 pack is about $7 but I've never bought one so I can't say for sure. I just see the sign when we go to ours, as we pass it I look but I never seem to remember. They are HUGE muffins tho, and very good!

How much are the muffins?

4 muffins are $5.79

Here's a good link to their 'to go' menu: (You can apparently order that online now if you wish to. :) )

Here's a list of what else is available for 'to go.' No prices are listed though.

On-line ordering link to Mimi's in Anaheim, beside Hojo's:

Edited to add: Oh I see... if you wish to make an online order you can see the prices as you begin to place your order. Looks like you can order quite a bit in advance, but I'm not sure what happens if they are out of a certain ingredient for a dish, etc.

How much are the muffins?

We just got back from HoJo's, where we ate breakfast nearly every day. I seem to recall that a single (huge!) muffin was something like $1.79.
