We have been to the one in Westwood, NJ a year or so ago....I personally did not care for the main course of the meats that you cook at the table but loved the apps and dessert fondues!!!

I love Melting Pot...one of my faves! We prefer the court bullion style of cooking the meat vs. the hot oil. The cheeses and chocolates are delicious!

Hubs and I enjoy the cheese fondue with the beer in it. Try the rosemary bread- it's yummy. I also love the apples dipped in the cheese, which I thought would be a weird combo, but they complimented each other well.

We have gotten the coq au vin for our entree and have enjoyed it. If anyone else in your pot has spices on their meats, ask them to do them last unless you want to be tasting them too. It'll get into the cooking broth.

Word to the wise... During the cheese course, they'll keep bringing you stuff to dip into your cheese till its gone (we got 3 things of rosemary bread and 2 more bowls of apples). They will NOT bring out more stuff to dip into your chocolate. :-(

Have a blast! Oh, and our melting pot offers chocolate covers strawberries to go, if you want to order some to bring home ;-)

We love it! We usually get "The Big Night Out" which is pretty all-inclusive (except for wine or cocktails). This is not a quick turn-around dinner--we usually spend 90 minutes or more. The servers are generally very helpful and courteous. A fairly common comment is "you don't get much for the price you pay" but you will not walk out of there hungry.

Oh, and they have always given us extra stuff for the chocolate fondue. I'm not a big dessert guy, but DW loves the chocolate-peanut butter fondue. It's like a giant melty Reese's.:)

We went once and really enjoyed it, it was very different from typical restaurants. We skipped the meat course. With the cheese fondue, salads, and chocolate we were stuffed!

Not true! They bring out as many dippers for the choclate that you want- we always get 2 and 3 helpings of the cheesecake to dip and the oreo covered marshmellows.

I can do without the meats. We usually skip that part when we go there.

But I love their California Salad (and I'm not a salad person), the cheese fondue (preferably the traditional Swiss), and the dessert fondues (preferably flaming turtle!) :thumbsup2.

Now I want some :).

The one here in Richmond, VA will bring you whatever you want for dippers with the cheese and chocolate.

I think everyone should try the whole meal at least once. But, the cheese and chocolate are my favorites!

Same with the one I went to in Myrtle Beach and the one here on Long Island.

We always try to get a table with a double burner and we get the broth (can't recall what it is called) and the oil. The oil is great for making stuffed mushrooms- you take a mushroom cap, fill it with the green goddess cheese and batter it with the tempura batter and fry it up- its really good- same with the Brocolli!

I guess my Melting Pot is being skimpy with the desserts. :-( I went with a friend before and we got one plate of dippers to share. When we asked for more, we got it, but were charged extra for it.

I've been to Melting Pot three times this year. It's delicious but expensive. We have gotten extra dippers for both the cheese and dessert course. If you are going with a group of four or more make sure to request a table with at least two burners.

mmm, we love the Melting Pot, and love the meat course. We get the court bouillion, and I love the fresh, simple taste of the chicken, shrimp, salmon and veggies cooked in it. (I don't eat red meat, but dh and the kids enjoy that, too). Love the dipping sauces, especially the curry! The potatoes take FOREVER to cook, though. Put them in the bottom of the pot first thing, and MAYBE they'll be done after you've finished every morsel of meat and every other vegetable, lol!

We always get the ying & yang chocolate fondue for dessert.

It's delicious and fun but SLOOOOOOOOOOOW. We went for the NYE dinner a few years ago and it took close to 4 hours. It wasn't crowded or busy. It just takes forever to get through each course, cooking your own food. I would go again for the cheese and chocolate.

The Melting Pot has been my favorite restaurant for close to 30 years! We always get the Bourguignonne. Go with a good conversationalist and pay attention to cooking times!
