Tell me about March

We just planned a last minute trip down to WDW for the end of March. Can anyone tell me about their experiences travelling at this time of the year? How is the weather? Crowds? I am hoping that we miss most of the spring break travellers and that we are there before the April school vacation/Easter travel season.

We will be there from March 29-April 5th.

We'll be there then too. Making the trip from California because that's our Spring Break with a quite a few other districts I see. Lots of threads on this. "March," "Spring Break," etc. I've seen them, doing heavy-duty planning, but I'm sure it will all be worth it.

My family almost always takes a trip the first week of March. Usually the highs are in the 70s-low 80s. Warm enough to swim. The lows are usually in the 50s, but that is early morning or late night. It is usually warm enough to swim. The March of 2010 was freezing though but that was a fluke. The first week of March usually has pretty low crowd levels but that will go up later in the month with the spring break crowd.

Crowds are a bit hard to predict during that time because of Spring Breakers. Anytime in late march you run the risk of high crowds. The closer to Easter the more crowded it becomes.
When Easter is later in April (like this year), you may get away with moderate crowds in late march...but again it depends on when people have spring break.

Best thing to do is plan for crowds (not insane crowds) but heavy traffic and if there isn't any TADA you are pleased.

We went the last week of march 2009 and it was very busy. Was the first time we were ever there so we had nothing to compare it to so it was ok. We dealt with it.
The weather that year.....everyday for 5 days was low 63, high between 88-95. It was HOT during the day, thought I was going to melt. My Michigan self was in a furnace!!! LOL

My cousin and fifteen of her sorority sisters are going the week of the fourteenth. This is the University of Southern Mississippi's spring break week. The other colleges are not having spring break until April. They had no trouble getting rooms at ASM or ADRs at what I consider to be the last minute.
