Tell me about living in Davenport, FL

We are currently in Germany on military orders. My husband will be deploying next year for 12 mos. After that tour he will have 20 yrs in and will retire. We had always wanted to reside in FL. We are thinking about me moving to FL to "scout" out the area. I will rent a condo or apartment and then if we like it will we search for a home. I am leaning towards the Victoria Park Apartments or can someone recommend other apartment complexes. I will fly over in Sept and take a look and by Jan/Feb 2011 I hope to be moving.

I will look for p/t work while I finish up my Hospitality Mgmt Degree. I currently work for a hotel here in Germany.

We don't have any children together so schools really aren't an issue for us.

We are mid 30's.

I love Four Corners. There are some iffy areas in Davenport and Champions Gate is expensive but check out the area of Highway 27 between I4 and 192. PM me if you want more info!

Don't know a thing about Davenport FL but does the hotel you currently work in have any located near the area where you weant to live that perhaps you could transfer to???
