Hi,
We're taking our 2 DS's to WDW in May for their birthdays. I'm going to try for Cindys for one birthday (They like the ladies!), and am thinking of Liberty Tree Tavern for a Character dinner for the other birthday celebration.
How did you enjoy Liberty Tree Tavern for Dinner. HOw was the character interaction? Was there a good selection of children's food?

We went to LTT a few weeks ago with my three sons (12,10,9). They had a very good time with the characters. We were greeted by Minnie, Pluto, Chip, Dale, and Meeko (I think). My DW and I really liked the food (Traditional Thanksgiving style). I was also glad to get the boys to eat something besides Chicken fingers/Fries for a change. Unfortunately they weren't all that pleased with my choice. Two of them enjoyed the Ham and we went through the bowl of mashed potatoes. They didn't touch the salad(rasp. vinagrette dressing) and ate very little turkey.(which we loved) My middle son ate some mac & cheese and some rolls with sweet butter. They ALL loved the GIANT sodas though. We skipped dessert and got some Mickey Bars later on.

I thought it was better than I expected it to be. ( a bit of a wait to be seated though). My wife enjoyed it. Only my oldest son was satisfied with the food though. (not praising, just OK) The other boys were looking for "junk food" an hour or two later.

So in conclusion, if the boys will eat regular turkey/mashed potatoes and the like, they will enjoy it. The characters sat for pictures and were playful and the service was pretty solid. I think it was like $75. plus tip for the dinner. So to me it was well worth it. I just have to get them to better!

My DH and I took our 3 yr old DD about 1 1/2 years ago. Was good for DD because it was the only character meal we went to. We got tons of pictures with Minnie, Pluto and Chip N' Dale. They all made their way around the restaurant at least once while we were dining.

But the food was mediocre at best. From what I remember the macaroni and cheese is sponsored by Stouffer's. It tasted like a frozen entree that had been heated up in the microwave. (Yuck!) The mashed potatoes were OK. The meat was edible but a little tough. Of course my DH has a stomach of steel and seemed to like everything.

We are returning in January and the only way I would go back to LTT is if we cannot book another character meal.

Hope this info. helps.princess:

The food is just ok in my opinion, but it's worth it for the atmosphere alone. I love the early American colonial feel. It's a very cozy place to eat :)

Character interaction was the best of our trip. Actually we got a little TOO much. After the 3rd time around we had kind of had enough! LOL

We'll be going back for our third meal there this January. Can't wait!

What characters do they like? Mickey, Minnie, pluto, chip & dale usually there. Been few years since we ate there. My DH likes the food it's ok. Kids always order something else. We just ate at CP with Pooh & friends it's a buffet & great. Can you get on the monorail to go to CR? Chef Mickeys wins hand down. Kids had a blast!! Mostly same characters at LTT. Buffet which my kids loved & the food was the best of the character meals that I've been to.

Agree with Jynohn. Character interaction is great -- lots of fun. Atmosphere is wonderful. As for the food, I like that it's not a buffet, but that's the best thing I can say about it. Tastes like frozen dinners -- ham, turkey, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese -- probably because Stouffer's sponsers it. Lunch is much better.

There is better food and also good character interaction at Garden Grill at Epcot, but I don't like the setting as much at LTT.

Sounds like my kids wouldn't eat from that menu. Guess we need to find somewhere else.

My family didn't like the food. We loved the characters though.
We went on Thanksgiving 3 years ago and will never go back for dinner. We may try lunch sometime.
