I am hoping to get into Ohana but will try for Kona if that can't happen. Tell me the good and bad. How are the noodles?

Kona was AWESOME!!! I don't remember what we had, it was almost 2 years ago, but we almost cancelled it b/c we didn't know if we would end up having time for it and thank goodness we didn't, it ended up being our favorite dinner restaurant!!! :yay:

We love the food at Kona, unfortunately the last couple of years we have found the service to be really rushed. They brought entrees before we had finished with apps. And we at least like 10 mins in between courses. My favourite is the pot stickers and the coconut shrimp and scallops. I had the noodles and while they were nice, I prefer other things on the menu. Dessertwise the banana brulee is to die for. I think i would pick Kona over Ohana.

We had an all-appetizer meal on our first night in Disney in January. I was satisfied with everything we ate, and the volcano roll was very good. I'm not much of a coffee drinker, but after getting up at 4:30 AM, rushing out the door to catch our flight, and going non-stop for the whole day after that, I was dragging. That pressed pot coffee was a life saver. It was actually good, too, and, like I said, I'm not much of a coffee drinker.

We really like it. Never had the noodles only risotto. My DH likes the steak and I like the Mahi Mahi and the desserts although I don't remember what I had I remember liking them. One night we got home late from the parks and hadn't eaten - the kids were too tired (we got them Captain Cooks) - so they fit us in and made us feel really special. Their breakfast is also very good. The coffee I use my snack credits there when we have stayed at the Poly.

Double post!

I seem to keep getting fatal error messages. I then hit the back button and click post and then it posts it a second time.

The bread and butter are so good.

I ordered the steak and it was very good. I probably had fries with it. I didn't go last year so I can't recall everything we had.

I'm going back this year (first night).

To be upfront, Kona is one of our favorite restaurants at Disney. With that being said, my DH ordered the noodle bowl and it was the only bad dish at the table of 6 that night. The Mahi Mahi was amazing, Tuna wonderful, the chicken was a delightful surprise, and the desserts, oh the desserts! We love breakfast there as well.

The atmosphere was great, we never felt rushed, and the service was quite good.

Good luck!

We've eaten at Kona many times, and the food and service is always excellent.

The bread is TO DIE FOR... mmmmmmmmmmm! I want to go back just for that!

I can't remember what DH & I had, but I remember thinking it was an EXCELLENT meal.. Definitely need to try and go back there this year.

I'm not sure about the noodles...I hear a lot of good things about them lol. BUT, I can tell you that the steak was VERY good, and the Mahi Mahi was awesome. My DD loved her kids meal and demands to return there for the night of her bday when we go back this Feb.

And if you like desserts this is your place! I had the banana creme brulee and it was one of the best things I ever put in my mouth. DH had some sort of cake with gooey chocolate inside of it and ice cream I believe...He enjoyed that as well. The chef there was awesome and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. If I had to chose Kona or Ohana I'd probably chose Kona. Service was better and I enjoyed the food more. And I agree with the PP that said they don't make you feel rushed. My DD fell asleep there and we took our sweet time with waking her up.

YUM :)

I hope you have great dinner at either one you end up with!

Absolutely delicous!!! My DH and teen DS always get the steak- I think its NYstrip. I always get the Tuna Oscar and my younger DS and DD love their kids meals. The food has always been great and the bread with macadamia nut butter is to die for !!! ok, now I'm hungry :rotfl: The atmosphere in the Poly is so wonderful ...it is a must do on our vacations!

We love the food at Kona Cafe. It may not offer particularly exciting atmosphere or entertainment, but it is a casual restaurant that willingly caters to adults and families with older children. The bread and macadamia butter is divine and serves as the perfect prelude to the sticky wings appetizers. My favorite entrees are the shrimp and scallops and the tuna Oscar. Finally, all the desserts are wonderful, prepared openly in a live pastry kitchen.

I will echo all the other replies. Kona is a must do each trip. I will be there a week from Sunday!:cool1: The steak teriyaki is fantastic and my kids love the kona cone. I have also had the shrimp and scallops and enjoyed that as well.
