I have been doing research and as far as I can see, the only Halloween event on Halloween in Disney is mickeys not so scary Halloween party, is this correct?

Is this the only place the kiddos can trick or treat if we are in Disney on Halloween? Or are there other trick or treat options?

TIA

There are a few activities at Port Orleans Riverside during Halloween. I'm not certain about the other resorts.

The Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is worth attending at least one time. The parade was great and there was plenty of Halloween candy being passed out on Main Street. There were dance parties and the rides are open with low lines. This is also one of the only times you will be able to dress up in a Halloween costume and go to the Magic Kingdom. The Halloween party does sell out the closer you get to October 31st.

Halloween is the BEST time to go. Low crowds, good weahter, MNSSHP is awesome! I was at POP last year on Halloween and they had activities, like a DJ at the pool playing Halloween songs and some games and such. I was heading to MNSSHP so I didn't stick around all night to see whaqt else they had going on, but it was a fun atmosphere. This was on Halloween day. I highly recommend Halloween at WDW!

On just the decorating front...I was sad to find out that they do not do the decorating like they do for Christmas. Just because I can imagine the level of halloween decos disney resorts and parks would be capable of! But with the differences in crowd levels, I get why it may not be worth it. Anyhoo, MK will be decorated for MNSSHP and the resorts may have some hay and a pumpkin on the desk here or there.

The only thing really decorated is the MK.Other than the party and a few events at the resorts on Halloween night itself, there is no other Trick or treating onsite.

I concur that there really aren't any other decorations, but if you are going very close to Halloween, several of the resorts have pumpkin decorating/carving contests among the staff and guests are asked to vote for their favorite. So you're likely to see a table of decorated pumpkins in the resort lobbies. Likewise, in some past years, there has been some fall decorations set up near the top of escalator in the Land pavilion (with decorated pumpkins).

Thanks guys! This all helps! I'm more worried to find out if there is any trick or treating in Disney anywhere besides MNSSHP? Probably not right? Kiddos will both be 5 so trick or treating would be a must :) but I can imagine the lines for candy on Halloween night at MK at MNSSHP. Decisions, decisions...

The candy lines are bad at first but they drop off to nothing after Hallowishes. If your kids can stay that late, just hit the trick-or-treat lines after and walk out with bags-o-candy!

To add, the MNSSHP is GREAT! Well worth it as far as I'm concerned.

Other than the MNSSHP and MAYBE some stuff on halloween night at the resorts, there is NO trick or treating anywhere else on property. They used to have it at DTD, but it was a nightmare of HUGE crowds.

Downtown Disney did have it, but discontinued a few years ago.

Most if not all of the resorts have events, but not trick or treating.

Downtown Disney did have trick or treating on Halloween last year!

I think they key is that there are no "official" trick-or-treating locations outside of MNSSHP and the DisneyQuest event introduced last year. Some of the resorts and perhaps some stores at DTD do offer trick-or-treating, but there is no formal announcement from Disney, so there is no guarantee if anyone will do it again this year or, if they do, to what extent.

1- I have been doing research and as far as I can see, the only Halloween event on Halloween in Disney is mickeys not so scary Halloween party, is this correct?

2- Is this the only place the kiddos can trick or treat if we are in Disney on Halloween?

1- Yes! MNSSHP is the Disney way to take care of a bunch of things during the 'spooky' time of year. On MNSSHP nights, starting at 7PM, guests can come in full garb (adult and children!) and trick or treat, meet characters you don't typically see, and experience special shows and parades! Plus, if you're a SoTMK fan, you can get an exclusive card for your collection, too!

Please note MNSSHP is a separate event from regular park admission, and you must have a ticket to attend. Tickets typically range from $60-80 a person given the day of the party. Those without tickets will be escorted out at 7PM from MK, but if they have hopper passes they're more than welcome to visit other parks for the evening.

2- As far as I know, yes. But if I am wrong someone else will correct me on the matter.

3- I do not think so. However, there is Horror Nights at Universal Studios, but I don't believe that is a trick or treat event, more like a giant scare fest for those wanting additional thrills in the park.

The lines can get long for trick-or-treating, but they move fast and the children get an obscene amount of candy if they hit all of the lines.

Most definitely - it is not recommended for children. Or for quite a few adults.

Should also be noted that MNSSHP on Halloween night sells out ahead of time - you may not want to count on buying tickets at the door.

Yes, you are right, it was definitely not "official" but there were many stores handing out candy etc. There were also lots of kids dressed up but that's just bc it was Halloween... It was definitely not official like MNSSHP or DQ

Wow you guys are awesome! Thus why I love these boards, thanks for these responses.

If I buy tickets to MNSSHP the day they go on sale for the Halloween night party, would I be ok to get these tickets or do they sell out that quick when they first go on sale??

They don't sell out THAT quick, but they do sell out. I went last HAlloweemn, bought my ticket in the first week of October. It sold out less than one week later. If you buy first day you should be fine.
