I will be at US/IOA during the Grinchmas time but don't know what exactly it is. Thanks for the information.:yo-yo:

When we were in US two years ago for Grinchmas, we LOVED it. They had all these WHOVILLE characters walking about. We went to visit the Grinch, and he was great. He was very in character. They had a real snow hill (although it is not very high) that the kids can sled down. The reason I say real snow is it is actual ice, not soap suds like they use in Celebration. WE had a good time. I loved the show as well. They do a mini Grinch story though out the day. I am not too sure if it has changed at all.

Twinz, you described it very well. :)

Grinchmas allows you to meet the Grinch, and it's often that you'll see Whos milling around and having fun. The ice slide (Mt Crumpit Snow Plummet) is a 60 ft slide (60 ft long) and is fun. Just make sure you check out the line before you attempt to ride it. You'll need a child to accompany you if the line is long. When the line is short, they tend to be more lenient on this.

And they do have the Grinch show, which tells the story of the Whos and the Grinch on stage. It's very well-done.

It sounds so great. I really hope we can check it out. I have a question: How do they keep the ice from melting?

Sorry, if it sounds silly, but I wasn't sure....

The best part of the Grinchmas show is the a-capella group that performs as a pre-show. I hope they're back this year, especially the brunette. She was pretty cute! :)

The pre-show group, are they whovilles????

Thanks Barry. So does anyone know about the ice????

Who-ville is where the Whos live. Who-ville is what Seuss Landing becomes.

SpideyHulk-They have a special machine that keeps it cold. I'm not sure of the exact specifics, but that's all I know.

Thanks DM! Those are things that make you go Hmmmmm....

What are the dates for this? I assume it's going on during park hours? Still trying to decide if we should stop in after our cruise on Dec. 29 (we have AP's). Diana

Hi, does anyone know when Grinchmas ends? We'll be there on Dec. 28th and are hoping that it will still be around. Will the rest of the park still be in it's holiday decoration at that time? I sure hope so!:Pinkbounc

I think that Grinchmas runs until the New Year. When we were there in 2001, It was still running on 12/28.

Grinchmas and the Macy's parade run through Jan 4, 2004.:D

Diana,

Definitely make a trip if you can since you have AP's. From what I hear, the holidays at Universal are outstanding!

How are the crowds during that time period? We'd like to come down to see the decorations and Grinchmas, but won't be able to make it until after Christmas (I work in a bakery, we're busy that time of year!). Are the crowds pretty heavy until New Year's? We have AP's also, and would like to get some use out of them! Any word on AP discounts at the onsite hotels during that time frame?

If you go during the week days you should be fine.

I just saw the movie with Jim Carey and it really put me into a Christmas mood and I can't wait to go.

Crowds from 12/26-12/31 are super-ultra-omega heavy. I'm talking 45-60 minute waits for nearly everything. 75+ for Shrek/Spider-Man/Hulk/MIB.

Since it's a peak time AP discounts *may* be available, but the price will still be rather high.
