I have read mixed reviews about Garden Grill but it looked like a fun Character Meal and figured my DD (4) would have fun, so we decided to take chance. I don't know much about the restaurant.

I've heard it rotates. Do we want to sit on the bottom or upper level? Tell me the good, the bad, and the ugly. :dance3:

One of our favs! It does rotate - very slowly. I think it makes one rotation in an hour, maybe?? But the character interaction is great - lots of time with Mickey, Pluto, and Chip & Dale. The food is pretty good, homestyle. We've only ever gotten to sit on the upper level, but are thoroughly hoping for some pixie dust to get one of the lower level booths this trip. :thumbsup2

We LOVE GG! We have another ADR here in Sept!
Like pp stated it does rotate very slowly. In fact if you really aren't paying attention to the walls/decore/scenes from Living with the Land ride you wouldn't notice it.
The characters spend plenty of time taking pictures and signing autographs. We thought the characters would be hit or miss with just adults but they were awesome! Chip and Dale kept trying to steal our dessert. Mickey sat with each of us in the booth for some great photos! Pluto wouldn't leave my mom's braids alone.
The food was basic. It wasn't anything too extreme where I couldn't pronouce it..:thumbsup2. To us it was familiar food that we eat at home...flank steak, turkey, some fish, salad, bread.
We have sat at both top and bottom spots. I thought both were about the same, no strong opinions either way.
I think your 4 year old will enjoy GG--and I think you might enjoy it too! Hope you have a wonderful trip!

Absoultey couldn't agree more with this post!!!!

Our whole family loves this character meal. It's the only one (besides a princess meal) that HAS to be done each trip. The food is very traditional and my kids love the kid choices (baked chicken drum sticks, Mac n cheese, sweet potato fries) and everyone loves their desserts. The characters are great. They spent so much time at our table and came around twice since the restaurant is not that big. We are going ba k again in Sept. Can't wait for dinner at GG.

I agree with the previous posters! We ate at Garden Grill in December and loved it! We are two adults, and the character interaction was fabulous! Pluto sat down at the table and "licked" my face the entire time the waitress was telling us about the menu!

We had read some mixed reviews about the food, but we really enjoyed it! The salad was especially good!

Have fun at your Garden Grill dinner! I'm sure your daughter will LOVE it, and as someone above mentioned, I'm sure you will too!! :thumbsup2

We really enjoy Garden Grill and agree with the descriptions and reviews, above!

I'll just add that we have a very strong preference for the lower level and we always request it when we check in for our ADR. We usually arrive around 15 minutes early to make the request and hope that early arrival will help them accomodate it. The lower level semi-circle booths block out all the hustle and bustle of the upper level - we just find it more relaxing and comfortable. And you don't rotate past serving stations when seated on the lower level. It's easy to seat the kids on the ends of the booths on the lower level to meet the characters, and they don't have to move around the chairs (upper level has tables and chairs.) Also, on the lower level, the background for the photos will be the rotating scenes from the land. Our upper level, our character photo backgrounds are the painted wall and occasionally the serving station.

Hope you enjoy it!!

I agree with the other posters - GG is an excellent choice. We really like the food there, but the awesome character interaction is why we keep coming back. We have never sat on the upper level, so no opinions there, but the lower level is awesome.

You'll really enjoy eating here. Have fun!! :goodvibes

That cracks me up!!! :lmao:

I can't wait! Thanks for all the responses I am really looking forward to it! Our ADR is at 4:30pm and they open at 4:00pm so I am hoping we can get the lower level!

September can not get here fast enough!!!:banana::banana:

LOVE GG!!! We devoured the food - we were starving though - so I think we would've eaten anything. ;)

Best character interaction of any restaurant in our opinion. We have the greatest pictures...my son's head is in Pluto's mouth, I can't remember why, but it's hilarious. Chip is giving my father-in-law this silly gesture, I just can't say enough about how fun it was. Even if the food was/is mediocre, it would have still been worth it.

My family loved it so much last year that we're going to have dinner there our first night this year! The food was very kid friendly and family friendly. The character interaction was great.....we saw each character twice and they really had a good time with the kids. As we were getting ready to leave, Pluto came around a second time. We were using a backpack leash for DS3 (who was only 2 at the time and is a "runner"), and had just put it on him. Pluto grabs the leash end and proceeds to walk my son all around both levels of the restaurant. All of the other diners were laughing to see the dog walking the child. :lmao: I didn't get really good pictures because I had to chase them around, but DS3 still talks about it. He had the biggest smile on his face and really hammed it up with Pluto!

:thumbsup2

That is the best! :rotfl:

We ate there on our last trip and really liked it and the food was good. Were eating there again when we go back in Sept. Can't wait! :cool1:

We liked this place, specially characters entertainment. Children were very pleased and wanted to visit this restaurant again. I liked it was rotting :goodvibes I advice everyone to visit this place. I found even more reviews about this place on pissedconsumer.com/consumer-reviews/restaurants.html. You should read them.

Garden Grill had good food. DS had a chicken leg in each hand at one point. Our server was funny & very attentive. Pluto played with DD10 with our misting fans. She had them on turned toward her & he turned them on himself. We got some adorable pictures. Mickey danced with her. All the characters did sword fighting with the older boys at the table next to us. I liked the way the tables were situated so you weren't on top of the other diners. The rotating didn't bother me at all and I was worried that it would.

We have eaten there many times and are going back this year. Even 16 yo DS still enjoys this one.

We were there this past May and while the food was excellent, we were not impressed with the character interaction. Luckily, this seems to be not be the norm. We were there for a little over an hour and the only characters that came to our table were Chip and Pluto. As luck would have it, those were the two my kids wanted to see the most.

in case all of the other great reviews haven't made you excited about your up coming meal, it is so much fun. The characters are fantastic and the food is good too. The last time we ate there (uncle, aunt, 3 and 5 year old cousins, mother and me) the characters were fantastic with everyone and so was our waiter. He teased my aunt and mother the whole time, it was so funny. Especially when my aunt wanted to order more chicken fingers (for herself, not the children). That meal was one of the most memorable i have ever had, i hope you can say that too after your trip :)

We really liked the food here. My DS really enjoyed the characters in their farm clothes. Both times that we have eaten here we sat on the upper level and I got motion sickness each time. The motion didn't bother anyone else though:confused3. I might try here one more time but request to sit on the lower level.

It's one our favorite DW restaurants. The Land is one of our favorite rides which contribute to the appeal here. As far as food goes, the last 3 times we dined here, it has been consistent and fresh. Okay, not 5-star restaurant quality, so I wont pretend it's the best ever, but it was better than average for DW as far as dining options go.
