:scratchin The good the bad --- I want to hear it ALL!! LOL

Going for a short no-kids trip in a week or so and left two meal slots open for 'snacking' around World Showcase. Where should I hit and where should I miss? Also, what are my chances of getting ceviche at the counter service in Mexico? i know it's a rest. appetizer; but i assume the food is made in the same place???

TIA! :wave2:

We loved Mexico's Cantina de San Angel, China's Lotus Blossom Cafe, and Japan's Yakitori House.

I'd definitely check out http://www.allearsnet.com/menu/menus.htm#epc for the restaurant menus. I found it to be extremely helpful when planning our meals.

Hope this helps!

Stay away from Cantina San Angel. We are not picky eaters, are experienced Mexican eaters (both Tex-Mex and authentic Mexican) and found the food to be barely edible (with emphasis on barely). Counter service in Japan, England, U.S. and Germany were all quite good.

It probably depends on what you order but we have LOTS of Mexican restaurants where we live and we enjoyed the taco salads and margaritas at the Cantina. Yakitori House in Japan was a nice surprise. I can't tell you how long it took for us to realize it was there. It's up in the back and is a lovely setting and the staff was super friendly. And I can't resist one of those huge pretzels in Germany!

Also, what are my chances of getting ceviche at the counter service in Mexico?

Zero. Basic nachos and taco fare are served there. In the mid 1990s the Cantina used to be quite good but it has really gone downhill. The seating area is covered in bird poop and we've received meals that were cold.

The Tangierine Cafe in Morocco has some out of this world GOOD FOOD! They have Lamb or Chicken Schawarma that is to die for and their salads - tabbouleh, hummus, etc are awesome as well!

Real food, for a lot less than you'll pay for a cheap sit down dinner anywhere! They've got a nice covered seating area outside as well - we were glad to use it as it was pouring out when we were there last!

we like the food at the Norway counter, try the pretzels, the waffles, the schoolbread
Its all good! Also just the Italian desserts are great

thank you for all the input!! i predict a visit to Tangerine Cafe in my future!

i made a 6:15 ps at SAI for ceviche and a margarita -- then later I'll have a snack somewhere else followed by maybe a french pastry! i'm sure i'll burn a few calories at the 1/2 marathon that morning LOL ;)

Another vote for Tangerine Cafe! We ate here for the first time on our last trip, and it is my new favorite. We will definitely be eating there every trip from now on. Plus, their children's menu was great for my picky 5 yo ds! :D

The chicken yakatori, at the Yakatori House in Japan is great. We lived in Japan for four years and this is our first stop on every trip.

We also tried Tangerine Cafe for the first time this trip. The food was so good! I ended up eating there twice and can't wait to go back again. :D
