Tell me about Emerald Island resort...

I'd like to know all your thoughts on Emerald Island - after many weeks of looking at hundreds of villas, we've finally narrowed it down. There are 14 of us travelling, and not many resorts have 7 bedroomed villas!!

How long does it take to drive to TTC etc?

we have just booked a 6 bed villa sleeping 15 on emerald island. It belongs to the site agent and is dearer than others but it would suit you if two families are traveling together. It was the showhome for the site and the interior decoration is fab it also has a games room ,spa etc. Emerald island is 5 mins from disney so we wanted to be able to come back for a swim in the afternoons. If you want any further info send me a PM. Although I have been having trouble accessing them so post here to let me know as well.

I've not stayed at Emerald Island, but it's about as close as you will get to WDW. Only Formosa Gardens (which also has a lot of 7 bed villas) and Indian Creek are closer, but there's not much in it. It will take you 10-15 minutes to reach the TTC using the Sherberth Road shortcut. Downtown Disney is probably a similar distance, Epcot and MGM 10 minutes, AK 5 minutes.

We were hoping to be staying there this Easter - but got a call from our agent about 3 weeks ago to say that the owner had withdrawn their property from the rental market. Fortunately our agent has found us somewhere else - but we are very disappointed about it. Emerald Island looks great. There are a few websites - we found them through Google - try 'Emerald Island resort Orlando'.
