Tell me about Dollar Car Rental

What has your experience been when renting a vehicle from Dollar at MCO? Does joining their express program make that much of a difference? We are going with my in-laws and I doubt they would want to sign up for the program because they are VERY cautious about giving out personal info. Thanks for your help!!

We rented from Dollar during the first week of October & did join their express club. We arrived around 10pm or so and, after collecting the bags, went right over to Dollar. Got in their express line, had everything all done (from waiting in line til on the way to the car) in about 4 1/2 minutes. The paperwork was all filled out, all the options were already selected (gas, CDW, etc). Just a quick swipe of the credit card (I think, not even sure they had to do that), a signature, & away we went. It does speed things up some, and sped up the return somewhat too.

Is it for everybody? No, some people don't want their information in the system like that, but, do remember, one way or another, they'll have the information in the system, whether it's before you arrive or when you get there. Either way, they'll have what they need before you get what you need.

just wanted to share that we just had a TERRIBLE experience with dollar, so if you can switch i would highly recommend it!!!! yes the card does speed up check in, but we just waited over a half an hour in the garage to return the car. they only had 1 or 2 people checking cars and they were not checking people in the order they arrived, but going up and down the rows of cars. the porter who was helping us with our luggage said that unfortunately this is the norm for them. and to top it off, we got a flat tire on the way to the airport and we called dollar road side service number and their response to us was "isn't there someone there that can change it or are you a aaa member????" i know they can't control flat tires, but at least offer to help!!
so after an hour wait on the side of the road, then over a half an hour in the garage, i will NEVER use dollar again.
