So, we're planning our next trip to Disney and I'm thinking Halloween-- are the crowds heavy? What exactly IS MNSSHP? Do they shut the parks down very early? Is it a good time to go? Crowds seem VERY light...

Hello! We just got back from Halloween at WDW.
During the day we were at EPCOT enjoying the Food and Wine Festival. For the most part, crowds were light- didn't wait longer than 15 minutes for attractions/shows.
We attended the Halloween Party on the Boardwalk (which started at 6pm) and then made our way to the Magic Kingdom for MNSSHP.
The Magic Kingdom and all transportation going to the park was very crowded. The party starts at 7pm and the first parade is 8pm - therefore when you entered on Main Street- there were people everywhere getting their curbside seats for the parade!
Once you get past that, the lines were not long at all for the rides and everyone looked great in their costumes!
One note- Make a priority seating for dinner inside the Magic Kingdom for 5pm or so- that way you are in the park when the party starts and you dont have to go through the terrible crowds on Main Street!
Overall , the party was fun, lost of candy and great parade and fireworks!
ENJOY

We were there in 2003 over Halloween. The daytime crowds 10/30-11/8 were fine. They were really light. Rarely used FP- as even the major rides were only in the 20 minute range. Most everything else was 5-10 minutes.

We did MNSSHP on Halloween that year. The party is always a lot of fun. However, we've also done some of the first parties of the year too. There is a significant crowd level difference in the sold-out parties. I would avoid a popular sell-out date if possible. However, if it came down to a sell-out date and not going- I'd go for the sold out party.
