We will be eating at Chef Mickey's in Dec. Please tell me if you like the food and what is consisted of. I already looked on Deb's website. Just wanted to hear from you.

Well I can't give you good news. We thought the food was horrible. Maybe we jsut hit it on an off night, but the food was really gross. It was cold bland and way over cooked. I don't like the set up of the restaurant either, since we were one of the unlucky ones who got seated upstairs. OK so there are only 4 or 5 steps, but wiht children and a buffet that's a bad combination.
The characters were good once we got ot see them but we waited forever. We saw them curculate around the main floor and enter the side rooms 2 or 3 times before they came upstairs. I believe someone in the area with us told their server that we hadn't seen the characters up there. We couldn't tell our server because we only saw him 2 times. The service was non existent.

We do not care for the buffet at Chef Mickey's at all. Its probably one of the most popular buffets because of its name. Food quality, pricing and service is poor.

We miss the old Chef Mickeys at DTD. It was located where the Rainforest Cafe is now. Back then it was a full service restaurant. Great food, service and character viewing. Wish they never got ride of it!!

I LOVE chef Mickey's. Our family goes there every trip. We had dinner there last year and it was fabulous! I loved the vinagrette salad dressing. I am a prime rib eater and I was a complete pig, since I went up for seconds it was soooo good. You have t try the Parmesean (spelling?) mashed potatoes. They are awesome. They also have pretty good desserts and the kids desserts are a lot of fun.

We have done breakfast here and have never been disapointed. I am looking forward to our next dinner in a few weeks.

I'm on the same wave as Tink! We LOVE Chef Mickey's!!!

It's the best prime rib we've ever eaten, (my DH is beefeater deluxe!) and DD loves the fried chicken strips. (I do too, for that matter.)

The dessert buffet is the best. I favor the carrot cake!

We like CM so much, we ate there twice in 2001!

I've never had any problems w/the service, and the Characters were aplenty.

I hope we'll be as lucky again when we visit in November.

I'm sorry for those of you who had bad experiences.

We had a bad experience last year or Citricos, so you never know when it will happen:(

We ate at chef Mickey's 2 weeks ago.

Everyone, incl. the kids thought the food was not very good. The only thing my kids liked was the pizza.

A lot of $$ for lousy food. I don't remember it being that bad when we went 2 years ago.

The interaction with the characters was OK. That was the main reason for going.

We went from 8/37 to 9/7 of this year, and we loved Chef Mickey's. We had dinner there on our first night, and our last night, and breakfast there in between. We really enjoyed it, and our food was fine. We ate later both times (around 8pm) and had no problems whatsoever. However, we did not like Hollywood and Vine at all. Different strokes for different folks, I guess...

Chef Mickey's food is bland - seems to be geared towards children. The place is loud, we felt rushed, and the food definitely wasn't worth it. However, my Mother made Donald Duck fall down with laughter, and that is a moment I will never forget!

We just ate there a couple of weeks ago. It was *not* one of the better Disney character meals we have been to. The food didn't even look appetizing! If you're taking children, they would enjoy the attention from the characters, as each one made to every table in our section. However, I said many times while we were there, that I have never seen so many characters in the parks as this last time. They were everywhere! If I had known that, I wouldn't have spent the $$$ on Chef Mickeys.

As you can tell it is hard to judge by others' experiences. We really liked it, but we are buffet people. If you like gourmet dining, it won't be for you. The service was so-so, but overall it was worth it.

My boys and I love Chef Mickeys! In fact, our trip in December will be our third time for dinner at Chef Mickeys. My boys are 11 and 14 and definately do not want to miss this one.

Considering we like dinner so much we are also adding Chef Mickeys' for breakfast in December!

We really enjoyed it as well. The last time we went our server was great (so good in fact, DS had him also sign his autograph book) Thought the food was quite good as well, and the characters were quite attentive. Our PS was the first one the took (5pm or so) for the night we went, and as we were waiting to be seated, we could see the chefs putting out a few last minute selections.

Sorry for those of you who had less than stellar experiences. Our family really likes Chef Mickey's

Another family that loves Chef Mickeys. My kids love decorating a cupcake with Goofy and the napkin dance. We have always had good food and good character interaction.

Thanks for the posts. Well I hope the food is good when we go. We are from New Orleans and food is really good here. I feel we are spoiled because of this fact.

We had breakfast at Chef Mickey's back in Oct. '01 and loved it. I have not heard too many good things about dinner so I think next tme we go, we'll stick with breakfast. Its kinda hard to mess up breakfast food too much and this way I don't think you expect alot. The atmosphere is great though, our son couldn't stop dancing, it was hard to get him to sit down and actually eat!!

We ate here for DS's birthday. Not crazy about the food, but enjoyed the atmosphere, and our server was great. Had a lot of fun with the characters as well (NEVER call Chip "Dale"!!!!).

But we will probably skip it in future trips. We have had great luck at the Garden Grill at Epcot - but you'll get as many negatives here! So I'd go to Chef Mickey's, and then you'll have the experience anyway!!!

Yup, I called Chip by Dale's name on our trip last month, and it was NOT a pretty sight.. I got a very emphatic scolding.. with no words at all!

CHIP HAS THE BLACK NOSE! (I have learned...:p )

Not a fan. We went last February and found the buffet offerings very mediocre. Even the kids stuff didn't look too great. It is too bad because the place is a fun, festive setting.

We might consider trying them again for breakfast because breakfast is hard to screw up.

I think it boils down to expectations. I think that with most character meals, the food is not that good. It's not really what you are paying for. We've done Chef Mickey's twice for dinner and we found the food to be mediocre. That being said, we weren't expecting gourmet and had a great time with the characters. If the meal wasn't very good at say California Grill, then I would have been disappointed!

I was actually surprised when the breakfast buffet at CP was pretty good!

While not the best meals I've ever had...I've had really good experiences at 1900 PF (dinner) Breakfastosaurus (breakfast) Crystal palace (breakfast and lunch) and Hollywood and Vine (lunch, or was it breakfast, any way they don't have the character meals anymore). CM's is the only bad WDW meal we've had on 3 trips (one trip was actually 2 non park WDW meals when we visited US/IOA)
