Hi :wave2:

Just booked for next may at BWV Studio, requested standard view. Will I regret it? What are the odds for a decent view? Also, what's the pool area like? I thought it might be fun for my son, with the circus type theme going on. Love to hear opinions about BWV. Thanks.

We just returned from a BWV standard view studio trip! Our room faced the front of the resort (where the buses drop you off and the cars pull up to unload).

We liked it, it was quiet in the morning and we got some early sun that dried off the chairs, then in the evening we got shade. We used our balcony a lot! It was very peaceful.

The pool is nice, but my 6yo nephew was afraid of the clown and wouldn't go down the slide and stayed far from it in the pool (but he was scared of everything! He even started crying on Spaceship Earth-so I don't think he is typcial). There is a 'small kids' area at the pool and a playground, so I think you will like it.

We LOVED our stay at BWVs and I am hoping to talk DH into going back again next year!

We've only stayed standard and thought our rooms were great! Because the building curves away from the driveway you will get a nice view of the lawn area and we've never had a problem with noise. Here is a picture of our room. We were on the first floor on the right of the large red section behind the tree.

I took this from the sidewalk that leads to the bus stop.

Had a standard view in May. I had requested some privacy and our balcony was behind a big tree, actually really nice. We were near the valet/drop off area, the noise didn't bother us, it was the dinging of that danged valet bell! Could see the fireworks from the balcony at night. After one night of 'isn't that nice' didn't bother watching them after that. How many folks really sit in their rooms at WDW?

All views are "decent." Of course, with ANY view category, some will be a bit nicer than others.

NOTHING wrong with a standard view. My personal opinion is that a standard view at BWV is just as good and maybe better than most of the views at BCV and VWL.

Standard views are the best value point wise of all the DVC resorts. So enjoy!

The pool is great. My kids love it. Your son maybe too young to go down the clown slide. DD first went down by herself (the only way they will let you do it) when she was about 3yo. It took her another 3 YEARS to work up the courage to do it again!

One of the best parts of BWV (& BCV) when you have little ones is that you can put the child in the stroller in your room and not have to take him out and close the stroller at all for 2 out of the 4 parks.

This comes in handy when they fall asleep at Epcot or MGM - you can roll them right into the room without dealing with closing the stroller for the buses.

i stayed at bwv twice, the one time was in a standard view. i actually liked that better because of no noise.

I have been many times disappointed with my views at all of WDW, especially in the regular non-DVC resorts, so I didn't have super-high expectations of our standard view. Glad to say we were somewhat pleasantly surprised that it was a bit nicer than expected. Nothing GREAT--no fireworks view whatsoever, but we overlooked a small pond with tennis courts off in the distance. Parking lot was a bit further away but not horrible. We could see the pathway to MGM and canal. Also ToT. It was pretty decent. VERY far from the lobby but closer to pools and parking. I loved it for the value too. Good luck!

We had three standard rooms in Sept for my annv party. My in-laws had a view of the fireworks and the rest of us had a view of the parking lot and a grassy area. This worked out great because my in-laws spent a lot of time in their room and we didn't. The view was fine for me but the walk to the buses was a haul. We were at the very end of the building on the complete opposite side of the bus stop. However, all we had to do was step in the stairwell go down two flights and we were half way to MGM. You will always have a pro and a con to everything.
Everybody is going to see it differently :3dglasses . Just find the silver lining to your cloud. :sunny:

We really took advantage of the exit/sidewalk off the corner of the building by the pond. That made it much easier and faster to the bus stop than going to the lobby. I hadn't even noticed it on our last 2 trips.

I saw people coming from that direction, but I never figured out how to do that. It would have been shorter for us too, I'm sure. I will have to try to figure it out next time!

Technically you don't have to take your child out of the stroller for 3 of the 4 parks. We always enjoy walking through Epcot and taking the monorail to MK. The monorail itself is a ride to my kids. You do have to be aware of time to make sure you make it back to Epcot before it closes. We've never had that problem happen though.

Did you request standard view or reserve standard view? I'm assuming you reserved standard view and wanted to get he best view in that category but your initial post was slightly unclear in this regard.

Honestly, your son looks young for the BWV pool. With a kid that little, I'd prefer SSR or BCVs which have zero entry pools if you'll be spending a lot of time in the pool. The main pool at BWV is DEEP (at 6 and 7 this year my kids were finally able to handle it - previously it was a lifejacket pool for them - and BWV has lifejackets to rent) and the kiddie pool is not worth much there.

If he'll be happy bobbing along in a life vest or spashing in the six inch deep and eigh foot diameter kiddie pool, you'll be fine

The location is great and we love the standard view rooms.

I always try to get standard view. The location works for us as we always have a car.

We always have a standard view and we love it.

Looking at going to BWV in April 1-7. We went this past year, and it was magic season. Looking at 07, that time frame is not PREMIER SEASON with MEGA pt usage!! WHY? Why the change from 1 year to the next... I thought that the season never changes..

Can anyone help?

As Twinglemum points out, Easter 2007 will be on 4/8/2007. NYC schools will be off from 3/31/07 to 4/10/07, so it is definitely PREMIER season. The dates dovered by the seasons DO change from year to year depending on the dates the holidays fall on. However, the points required during the different season do not change. Hope this helps.
