Looking to rent a car from MCO June 21-July 1. Got a rate of 177 from Budget which is much cheaper than National and Alamo who I ALWAYS use. I am so comfortable with both of these I am a nervous about using Budget. Has anyone had any experiences with them at MCO? Thanks so much in advance:thumbsup2.

We used Budget for our Honeymoon March 2012. They MADE us take the insurance, thus DOUBLING the cost of our rental. Be ware.

Our one and only experience with Budget was poor. We rented a Ford Edge this past Christmas week. The vehicle was high mileage, visually abused on the outside, and had been smoked in at some point  . Something inside (perhaps a cleaner or disinfectant?) gave our DS an allergic reaction every. single. time we drove anywhere.

I can only hope they pulled that vehicle from service after we completed our customer satisfaction survey upon returning home. A manager emailed me and confirmed that the vehicle we received was not up to their company standards......so hopefully everyone else will be spared the smelly, beat-up SUV we had.

This happened to us too. The agent told us it was a new law and that it was required to rent the car.

Ask to speak with a supervisor, they cannot make you add insurance if you're already covered through your own insurance or your credit card's.

We used them at MCO in December and had no problems. They did try to talk me into the insurance, but I refused and they gave up. We got a Hyundai Elantra that was fairly new and we had not issues with it.

We have used them many times, we were never pressured to take the insurance and we had no negative issues.

We signed up for Fastbreak thus avoiding the counters at MCO. We just went to the Budget kiosk in the garage. This worked really well and we avoided the insurance up-sell.

Are there signs directing you to the Budget kiosk? I know that there will be counter signage. Do you just go the garage directly across from the counter?

Does anyone know if you can use the kiosk with a Costco discount? Can I show my card to the garage attendant?

Thanks!

I can't speak for the Costco discount, but our reservation had both a discount code applied and a coupon and we were still able to proceed directly to the garage with our Fastbreak membership.

The Fastbreak kiosk in the garage was on the second level of the garage, if I remember correctly (up one set of stairs). It was easy to find with lots of clear signage directing you there.

Cross the road near the rental counters to the garage and follow signs for whichever rental company you are using. The Budget fastbreak counter is in the garage right near their cars. Usually there is a board there listing your name. I always brIng my printed confirmation with me to be certain I get charged the correct rate (I tend to make multiple reservations as prices go down and I then cancel the higher one). We are told which aisle to go to and pick our own car.

they can be very persuasive but they can't make you take the insurance.

We just used budget, no problems. No pressure, again we had fast break. Avoided a huge line and headed straight to the garage. There was 2 people ahead of me. Another budget worker came up behind me asked my info and I was out in less then 5 min.

If so, the agent was outright lying. There is no law that requires one to take the CDW. They WILL try to persuade one to buy it. A polite but firm "no" usually shuts them down. The cheaper agencies will probably continue to harrass and hardsell, but the major agencies usually desist after the first refusal. They're hoping to snag the unsure, the uninformed, the stressed out family, the first time travelers. Don't fall for it.

I've been using Budget almost exclusively for several years now. Fastbreak is great, no hassles.
