Tell me about bounceback

I get the general concept.

If we are traveling in October, what is the time frame we could book for? I know we have to reserve before we check out.

If we book a ressie, and we need to change the date, will I still get the discount?

Anything else I need to know?

Of course it's hard to say what they'll have this year, but you might plan for the following. Last year the BB up until October 24 (2009) was to be able to book a Free Dining package a year ahead for the next years FD dates (8/15/10-9/30/10). So if you go during the first part of October, this might be the BB that you get too - you might only get to choose dates during next years (2011) FD period.

Then last year when the FD BB expired on 10/24/09, a new BB started and was for room discounts into 2010.

Sorry but as far as booking a FD BB package and then changing the dates later, I'm not sure they would allow this because of the dining - though maybe if you switched dates and stayed within the FD period?

Thank you for the response! We are wanting to go May 2011 or October 2011, whichever is a better deal. I can book for May 2011 at any point, but not October. (I am a teacher and only have the upcoming school year's calendar.) So, if I book for October, I may end up having to change the dates. I guess this is something I would just need to find out once it happens. Maybe as it gets closer someone will be able to tell me what the bounceback is. We just want to try to have our mind made before we go if we want to book or not so the "deal" doesn't lure us in.

We returned a couple of weeks ago from our trip and took advantage of the BB. At the time our offer was 40% off of a deluxe stay (they had differing % for moderate and value but as a party of 5 we always stay deluxe.) Anyway, I booked and asked about changing dates after we got home because I wasn't sure of the kids school schedule for the upcoming year. They said that was no problem. As long as rooms were available at the resort I requested I could change dates (just like a regular PIN.) I did change dates (and resorts) after coming home but I had no problems making the change.

I also just booked the current room discout BB offer for 10/10. I asked if I could change dates or resorts once at home. They said yes as long as those dates and rooms were still available under the code I was using and the new dates still fit within the dates offered in the origional BB. I haven't tried to do it yet but they made it sound like it would be no big deal.

Was the BB offer good through next summer? I am confused. Our BB last August, 2009 was only good through the end of the year (December 2009) .

I feel silly asking this, since I've been hanging out here for years & gone on many WDW trips, but....how do you receive a BB offer? I've never been offered one & during our last stay at WL, I even asked about it & they had never heard of it. How does this work? Thanks!!

Unfortunately this is pretty common - if you don't see a BB offer flyer in your room or on the resort TV, the best way to see if there is a BB going on when you are there is to call the Direct BB extension 8844 from your resort room BEFORE you check out.
