Tell me about Boma

I'm in the way early stages of planning for our trip next year. I'm so anxious to go, I can't help myself! Anyway, I am considering trying out Boma this time around. I'm all for it, but some in my party may need some convincing. I'll try almost anything, but one or two in my group are a little pickier. Mind you, they aren't uber-picky, but they may balk at the idea of something too different.

I know that the buffet at Boma changes, so I understand why I can't find a definitive list of food items. Therefore, I was hoping that my fellow Disers could help me out with this. What kind of food can we expect if we go? And is there food on the buffet that would satisfy less adventurous eaters?

I look forward to reading your comments. Thanks!

They ussually have less exotic meats and veggies on the buffet table. The WDW flank steak is there, a roasted chicken dish, some really good salads and some "normal" soups. There is quite a good selection of more exotic type foods. Watermelon rind salad and ooooh the soups :worship: My kids have gone from "uber-picky" to "if it isn't nailed down I'm eating" it fazes and they have always loved Boma.

The very worst case scenario is that the other guests in your party will have to fill up on desserts! As far as I'm concerned they are the best desserts as a whole than any buffet(or some non-buffets) in the World.

AWESOME breakfast buffet!!!!

The juice is out of this world! We ate there 3 times for breakfast. Didn't do any other mean though.

We started our vacation with dinner at Boma and we liked it so much that we ate dinner there our last night too.

I think there is plenty for the pickier eaters in your party. The chicken, pork, and steak are fairly "normal" if you don't add the various sauces they offer. There was the basic mixed greens salad in the midst of all the exotic ones. There was watermelon, pineapple, melons, and grapes if I remember correctly. The "children's" section included chicken, mac n' cheese, and fries I think. The "Mealy bread" is a slightly sweet cornbread. For dessert there were cookies and brownies amidst all the other absolutely amazing, but less standard goodies.

But, remember these were just the suggestions for picky eaters. If you're adventurous, make sure to try one (or 2) of everything!

I was able to get a last minute ADR for my birthday breakfast on 9/9! That juice is truly out of this "World"! :cloud9::love:

Here's a review from my TR:

Boma is awesome. If you have any reservations about trying this restaurant – just do it. Go and eat. Try something new, have an old favorite and enjoy everything. I did not like everything I tried, but I did find some new things and it was good. Another highly recommended meal. Oh and the little pineapple cheesecake is to die for. Forget those oh too sweet Zebra Domes. Go for the cheesecake. You won't regret it. No one has cheesecake like Boma.

The carved meats we liked but I didn't care for much else. Go figure, I'm usually not a picky eater but everything tasted too sweet for me.

We love the breakfast at Boma so we thought we would feel the same about dinner...not so. We were not thrilled with the flavors, too much vanilla and cinnamon for us. The salads were weird, not feeling the soups (too much red pepper in all of them) and the ribs were very spicy. The prime rib and the falafel balls were the highlight of the meal....even the desserts were ick.
