Tell me about Big River Grille & Brewing Works

yuck!
We did it last trip as it was available for easy seating walk up and we were staying at BW. There was a reason it was available for walk up.:sad2:

Ate here just after check in at the Swan last November for lunch. It was warm out so we sat outside on the patio and watched the people go by. We tried the spinach dip (good) and then we both had burgers. I was kind of put off by the fact that the waiter would not let us order our meat cooked less than medium (I prefer my burgers medium rare). My burger was still juicy anyways and tasty, although made from a preformed patty. The microbrew beers were outstanding and perfect on a sunny day.

All in all I give it a 7, mostly due to it's great location and view. For lunch, it worked just fine, although we were not WOWED. Not sure what dinner is like there. I would go back again if the situation presented itself.

It's ok. I mean I wouldn't make a destination out of it. We go there is we have no ressies for salads and some good beers if we are sting at BWV. I would prefer Captians, or Kouzzina.

The food is ok, nothing special. The service was bad, we got asked if we were ready for dessert while we were still eating our entrees. Also we were sat on a tiny table with hardly any space, facing a wall! We wouldn't go back.

We think its Yuck! Our food was ehhhh and the place just seemed dingy and dirty, our table was filthy and after they washed it still had that stick unclean feel, much better options available.

Pretty good, especially the appetizers. Nothing spectacular. Decent beer.

Another one who says yuck. The burgers were dried out and the quality of the food was just not great. If I had it to do over again, I would have chosen Hurricane Hannah's or Beaches and Cream. Hurricane Hannah's burger are the same as B&C. We ate at both later in the week.
Live and learn!

I second, third and fourth the Yuck, but having said that, we've only tried it once. We found the food to be pretty bad.

We liked it for a quick and easy meal on the boardwalk. We've been several times and never had a bad experience. I'm surprised to see so many others have. It's certainly nothing fancy, but we kind of like that about it.

nevermind the food, the beer, the beer,
its the best beer on property. THe Rocket Red ale is one of my favorite all time beers. I would recommend a side trip here if you are a beer connisseur.
Ferget the Sam Adams, ferget the budweiser, ferget the rose and crown beers.

We had a different experience. I had the kids mac and cheese as I wasn't overly hungry. They had no issues with this (I was 27 at the time) and there was no up charge. It was a very nice mac and cheese (not the typical Disney kids meal stuff) creamy and cooked very well.

My fiance (now husband) had the beer which he thoroughly enjoyed and the cheese burger. He found the burger cooked well (we are well done people here) and the chips to be tasty (I also enjoyed the chips)

Our issue was when he felt a strange thing in his mouth. He pulled it out and discovered the wax paper which goes between the pieces of cheese had not been removed when it went on the burger. We let our server know and he immediately apologized and went to get the manager. The manager came over and also apologized profusely. He then said the burger would be comped immediately and we could have a new burger if we wanted. My husband who does not like to cause a fuss and found this as just an oversight and nothing overly gross said a new burger was not necessary. He just picked off the wax paper and wanted them to know so that they checked closer in the future. The manager then offered dessert on the house.

All in all they handled the situation very well and we received more for the mistake than I think happens at many Disney owned restaurants. We ended up paying $5.75 for my mac and cheese and drink, a free burger, beer, and dessert.

We had a terrible experience there and will not go back. The staff was very rude - they seated us at a dirty table that still had the previous diner's residuals on the table. They had given us a beeper and it never went off. When we saw them seating people who had arrived long after us, we went to the check in desk and asked. She said she had paged us and we hadn't returned. We were about 20 feet away.

When the server finally took our order, it took a long time to get it delivered. The meat loaf was still frozen in the middle and charred on the outside. When we asked for a replacement for it, they didn't bring anything back. The manager was also very rude.

Never again.

Thanks for this! I really wanted to know about the beers. Going this summer with my boyfriend and my dad, both of whom are beer snobs and really into microbreweries and craft beer. I thought this might be a fun place to go for lunch, but only if the beer is good. They'll put up with mediocre food to get great beer. ;)
