Tell me about Biergarten

I have always likes this restaraunt. You should know going in that you will share a table with others. I have never found this to be a problem. We have found the people we sit with to be friendly. The food is a good mix of German and some American. If you don't like German food, this probably isn't the place for you. All in all I like the food here and even my pickiest nephew found food he could eat.

I'm not a picky eater at all but we have a group of 32 that will be dining there. I haven't been to too many places that are bad so i'm sure it will be fine.
thanks!

This is one of our "must-dos" every time we're at WDW! The food is consistently great, and the whole place has an atmosphere you won't find anywhere else!!! Can't wait to go back!

How is it? Totally awsome! Plenty of food to chose from and the entertainment is good

Our Ratings of Biergarten: (rev 8/8/11)
. . . food price value: C
. . . food quality: B
. . . food quantity per serving: A
. . . food prep speed: B
. . . food selection: C
. . . seating quantity: B
. . . seating comfort: C
. . . eatery atmosphere: B
. . . eatery convenience: B
. . . staff friendliness: C
. . . staff attentiveness: B
. . . characters: B (entertainment, not characters)

NOTE: Seating is on long beer-hall tables, so other families will be
seated with you. Although entertainment at lunch and dinner, the
dinner show is far more fun. At dinner you get more Oom-Pah music
and dancing, let alone be chosen to participate. Although WDW likes
to Americanize its food, Biergarten remains relatively authentic. It
is good, above average German comfort food.

We loved this place. While the food was okay we LOVED the ambiance and entertainment. On our must do list every year.

Well if the beer didn't come in those half gallon glasses, we probably wouldn't go. :rotfl:

I think the food is fine, the entertainment is fine. It's not at the top of my list and we certainly don't think it's necessary to dine here every vacation, but it's fun on occasion if we have a larger group. My husband and I would never consider dining here just the two of us; it's pricey for the quality and it's awfully noisy.

We love the ambiance at biergarten. Our family all went there one Christmas and had a magical time. The small kids got to dance on stage, sit in front of the Christmas tree and got a surprise. Us big kids had beer! Oh, the food is pretty good too.

I think it is a great restaurant experience. The food is good, not great, not bad, but consistent and good. You can get a liter of good, dark beer there if you are a beer drinker and Germany has very good wine if you are a wine drinker. The entertainment is good and the overall atmosphere of the place I think it great. It is hard to really quantify but it kind of feels like you are in a bigger place than you are and I like the communal seating.

It is where we celebrated finishing the marathon last year (and that is what a liter of beer looks like):

Oh wow--that's a BIG group! I think you guys will have a blast. Plenty of food to choose from, live entertainment---we really like it!

It is my favorite restaurant in WDW. The atmosphere is fantastic, the food is good, and the beer is plentiful :) Alas the wife is not as much of a fan so we can't go there everyday :P

I place it a bit above the restaurant in Mexico as a pretty unique WDW experience. Sure, there are other much better places to eat in the world but I've always had a special spot for these two as distinctly original. The food won't blast your socks off but it is hearty and enjoyable.

Yes, be aware that there's a lot of "bologna" type meats and sausages. Someone on here once complained about the "meat loaf" and said it wasn't ground beef. In the Biergarten, it's a big hot dog LOL.

We did it last year for the CP package. The band plays Christmas music and it looks beautiful in there, all decorated. Plus DH had a beer bigger than his head! (see the PP post above) They will put the beer into a plastic cup if you can't finish before you're ready to leave. You're allowed to walk around drinking at Epcot.

A group of us went a few years ago and had a great time! There is enough of a variety of food for everyone to find something to eat. The entertainment is a blast. You should definitely experience this restaurant! Have fun!:tigger:

My wife and I tried it a couple of years ago and liked it so much we took our daughter there on her first trip last year. Once again we loved it, even my 2 yeard old, who can be rather pickey. Plenty of food to choose from, and the band is a lot of fun. You do sit "family style" which is just big tables that sit about 8 - 10, so you will be sitting with other people, which can be fun. we are planning our next trip for November 2012, and we will be going back.

I agree with this. The experience itself is great...the music, the communal seating. The food is good, but not outstanding IMHO. I might have been a wee bit dissapointed (esp with the meat). But im glad i went and think everyone should try it once.

I thought it was a fun atmosphere, but I thought the food was gross. My husband thought the food was okay.

I have been there a few times and we love it, it's one of our faves. There is a lot of variety of sausages in the buffet that I don't happen to like but I was able to find plenty of food to eat. they usually have a couple good soups and they have those pretzel rolls. Keep in mind that one of the most popular German foods, sauerbraten, is usually not available at lunch if that matters and I don't think the show starts until after 1pm.

We have eaten at approx. 75% of Disney restaurants and this I'd the lowest on our list. Worst place. Food was gross. We are adventurous dinners so it wasn't because it was German. Don't eat there if you want a good meal. Much better options. Just IMOP.

One of our favorite restaurants for atmosphere and vibe! Soo much fun! I went there with a girlfriend and the people at our table were stunned at how much we ate. We overheard them whispering to each other, "can you believe how much those tiny girls ate?!?" I never thought of myself as a champion eater until that moment.
