We are thinking about Biegarted for dinner during our October trip, but the menu scares me a little.

I can't tell if it's someplace we'd like and if the kids will eat there.

Can anyone share their experience there! Thanks!!

If the kids are looking for fried chicken nuggets and pizza, they won't be there. They do have macaroni and cheese, and roast chicken if kids will eat that.

I let my little sister pick our restaurants for next week, and she actually picked the Biergarten. I was pleasantly surprised, but it's because she can get Macaroni & Cheese.

I'm a relatively picky eater, but there are enough items on the menu that I would be ok with that I'm sure I can put together a sufficient meal for myself.

If you're really not sure, then you could consider going for lunch instead of dinner. They only add a few things on the dinner menu, so you'd be able to try almost everything at a slightly lower cost.

We end up at Biergarten every year. I'm a very picky eater and I still manage to find enough to make me happy. It is a fun atmosphere too!

We thought it was just ok. Out off all our ADR's it was the one we liked the least in terms of food, but the entertainment was fun. Just so you know what we were comparing it to, our other ADR's were Crystal Palace, Liberty Tree, Hoop De Doo, CRT, Sci Fi, Tusker House. I had cancelled out on Coral Reef for Biergarten, and I wished I had stuck with Coral Reef. I wouldn't go back.

Biergarten has always been one of our favorites. We usually alternate every other year with Rose & Crown. Oldest DS is at Disney now (he took his 14-year old baseball team down there for a tournament). He (our son, Andy) and his girlfriend, and ten others from the team (players/parents) went to dinner at Biergarten and had a blast. The food was wonderful, the beer AWESOME (Andy's word!) and the kids enjoyed the entertainment a great deal.

I love this place and so do our kids. They love the beer. We've probably eaten here 10-15 times over the years. BTW the baby just turned 28 and the other 2 are in their 30s so their tastes might be different than your children's. :lmao:

My picky 3 year old dd ate more at Biergarten than at any other WDW restaurant, and quite possibly more than at any other meal ever. I don't even know where she put it all. She loved it. She also loved the show and dancing on the dance floor. If you ask her favorite restaurant at WDW, she will always give you 2 answers CRT and Biergarten. The rest of the family really liked it too.

We have picky DSs, and they insist on going to the Biergarten every year! It may have something to do with DH being called onstage the first time, but they love it.

We love Biergarten and took 4 very very picky eaters. There is mac and cheese and other things they can eat and the show is perfect for kids. Kids go on stage and dance and have fun. At Christmas they are given a surprise. We loved the experience and the kids (11,10,5 and 3) still talk about it.

I sooooooooo hope y'all are right. DH is going to FREAK (in a bad way) when he realizes I booked a German restaurant. He doesn't care too much for German food (has he every *really* experienced it? I don't think so), but I booked Biergarten on a whim simply b/c the inlaws like German and because y'all raved about the atmosphere. Please don't be wrong... :)

Please keep in mind that if you are a smaller party you will share a table. This worked out great for my family as they put us with another family with kids about the same age as ours.

Also, the food is reallllll "German" lots of salads, chicken, carved pork, potatos, but you can get sausages, spatzle and other "more German" stuff.

My kids loved the show and dancing!

Hope you have fun.

I am really excited to try Biergarten on our upcomng trip. We booked it for 10/3 for a party of 9. I think it will be a lot of fun and the food sounds good to me. Dh is pretty picky also, but as long as they have meat, he will be ok!

What's the "surprise"? We are heading down there at Christmas and I am feeling out my options for dinning at Epcot.

TIA!

A couple of thougts that might help you. . .

First. . .I don't think I saw this mentioned. . . while you are wandering through World Showcase, feel free to stop by the podium and simply ask if you can take a 'peek' at the buffet. You can! My husband and I did this the first time we considered eating at the Biergarten. Had a better idea of what was on the buffet and what might appeal to us. . .

While I suppose there is never a guarantee here----especially if you want a specific time----but we have NEVER had a problem with simply doing a walk-up. My brother & sister-in-law made an impromtu stop traveling from southern Florida to celebrate New Year's Eve this year-----and even on that super busy night, they were able to walk up to the podium and get a that-day ADR. On a few separate trips (early spring and fall) we wandered in for a late lunch---and were welcomed and seated promptly.

Anyway. . .if you have any "reservations" about eating here----you could always book an alternate ADR----stop by the Biergarten during your visit, check out the buffet, and cancel the alternative ADR option if the Biergarten suits you.

Good luck! Enjoy!

I find the food to be okay there. DH seems to think it has to be a stop every time. I think he likes the environment more than the food, but sometimes it takes a little bit of both to make a place a success. The one time I had a horrible experience had nothing to do with the food but rather with the noise. My then 19mo DS2 didn't like the noise in there and screamed his bloody head off the whole meal (he didn't like Disney World in general that trip though).

You probably ought to respond the poster asking whether she should take her 20 month old or leave him home. :)

we are a party of 5 do they seat just 8 people to a table?
If so i guess it wouldnt be so bad with just 2 or 3 others.

I so did. :rotfl:

I want to say some of the tables seat more than 8. I traveled with a fairly large group one time and we all sat at one table. My memory could be fuzzy though, so maybe they had us at 2 tables.

My kids have eaten at Biergarten every trip since they were 5 and 3. They want to go every trip. It is a must. And my DH and DS are very picky eaters and they always find enough to eat. :thumbsup2
