Tell me about Barcelona

Hi everyone!

I'm looking for some tips about what to do and see in Barcelona. I've bought a guide book, but I have no idea where to start

My friend and I are going to Barcelona on Monday January 3rd for 5 days, and one thing for certain is that we will be watching the procession of the three kings on January 5th.

So, what are your must dos and sees?

I went to Bracelona for my 40th birthday many years ago, and I loved it, will pass on some tips when I get home from work, however if you have 5 mins read this trip report from Mike Jones, its from 2006 and its brilliant and will give you a great idea.

I will be reading with interest as I am staying in Barcelona for 3 nights before my cruise in September.

I have bought a guide book too but not started planning yet, will do so once my next holiday is over.....so i'll be asking you for your top tips Beth.

I did not really rate Barcelona at all, but Sagrada Familia took my breath away. I also enjoyed a walk down Passeig de Gracia, which is the high-end shopping street, but the reason I loved it was because the Gaudi and other Modernista buildings that are along there.

I don't really like Sagrada Familia, However it is definitely something that has to be seen. There is nothing quite like it.
