Tell me about Avalon cove?

Avalon Cove is a Charcter dining restaurant. Lunch is around $14 and dinner is $19 or so. At lunch you choose from 7 or 8 different main items that come with a side dish. Soup,Salad, dessert and drinks are extra.
At Dinner you have maybe one or two additional items added to the menue and the soup or salad and dessert come with the meal.
The Characters are not out constantly but there is almost always one or two around and Ariel is in the lobby to say helloe and good bye. Occaisionaly someone pushes Ariel around the restaurant when the other characters are parading about.
The outdoor seating while pleasent is kind of just okay. It has a nice view of Paradise pier if you are next to the edge otherwise a canopy disrupts the view. Inside has a nice "undersea" feel to it. The tables are nicely spread apart too.
I like all the food I have had at Avalon Cove. I have read many other people thought it was just okay and some who thought it was not very good.

Can you make priority seating reservations for this (or other) resturant?
Thanks!

I don't know if you can or not. Everytime I have gone there hasn't been alot of people. iIwalk up at Noon, when they open , and request a table and get in with in 5-10 minutes.

My friend had her daughter's 7th birthday party there.
It was great. Not crowded at all so Pluto played games
with the girls for about 15 minutes. The food was good
and reasonable. The kids meals came in a Sebastian bucket with
a shovel you got to keep. I would definitely sit inside.
The character's come around and lead the kids in a parade
every half hour or so. I think you'll enjoy it.

The food was good and character interaction was very good when we were there this August. However, we were disappointed that Ariel was not there because she was "too busy at Disneyland" that day.

I have had great experiences at AC. We love it! I have read some reviews that were less than enthusiastic but my luck has been wonderful with the food quality and character interaction.
I have only had dinner there - it was 19 bucks but with our PAP it was another 15% discount. Our 2 year old son had a kids meal which was around 10 bucks I think.
Dinner included choice of 2 soups or a salad, a main course, and dessert and a soda.
The portions were large and by the time we had dessert we were STUFFED almost to the point where we felt sick!
The service was good and the characters (Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, and Chip & Dale) all were very attentive and super friendly with us. Ariel was also there and we got some of the best pictures we have ever had with characters!
I give it two thumbs up - it's not cheap but if you are looking for a nice character dinner it is great!
Yes they do take reservations - I made mine a week in advance last visit.
Anything else please ask!

These included: Goofy, Minnie, Pluto, Chip, Dale, Ariel & Mickey.
Son's meal was $8.95, he got chicken strips in a plastic bucket, with a shovel. There were three adults, ours was $12.95, which included choice of starter/appetizer, and entree. Beverage was extra. All the characters came around, individually. We got autographs for our son, and pictures with everyone at our table.
I've yet to see a character meal this cheap. It was not crowded at all. On our way into the pier area, I stopped and made our ps reservation. When we checked in, we were seated within 5 minutes. The characters are dressed in sailing clothes. On the other hand, we did go have a character breakfast at Goofy's kitchen. Wow-this place was packed! It was a saturday morning, however, and there were lots of birthdays. I could guess that lots of locals bring their children for their birthdays(that's a great idea!) There were 6 characters-Pluto, Goofy, Mulan, Jasmine, Baloo, Donald. Right before we were seated, I had to pay-and this included gratuity of 15%. It did surprise me, because we were only a party of 4. I guess they want to make sure the staff is not stiffed. Just a comparison from one to the other. I'd give more of a thumbs up to avalon-much better characeter interaction. I paid twice as much for Goofy's, also.
