Has anyone seen the musical group American VYBE at Epcot? Are they worth seeing? Are they purely a singing group or partially instrumental? If instrumental, what instruments? I don't even know where they perform? What kind of music do they do? DS is a music major, and I thought he might like to see them on his next trip.

When you get to Epcot, get a park guide. It will list all the different shows/acts going on that day. American Vybe performs most often at the American Pavillion. They are an a capella group. Really good. We try to see them at least once each trip.

American Vybe is Awesome! They are a small a cappella group that sing a wide variety of music...It is definitely worth your time to seek them out...they also have their CD at Epcot...I may have to buy one this trip...

The only instrument I remember is a string bass. Very cool. The performers provide a bunch of percussive sounds, too. I try to see them every time we're at Epcot.

American Vybe is now called Epcot Vybe and they no longer perform in the American Adventure Pavillion. They now have an outdoor stage in the front of World Showcase between the 2 shops that are there. The only instruments they use are a string bass and their voices. They often use their voices to simulate instruments. They are a phenomenal group and definitely worth seeing several times each trip.

Now, this may change during the holidays as it just occured to me that the new place where they perform is the location of the Christmas Tree.

Epcot Vybe (American Vybe to me!) is AWESOME and SO worth hearing!! We just listened to the CD again today. Can't wait to see them in three weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally caught Vybe in their new location a couple weeks ago and frankly, I was disappointed. The performers are still great, but I found I missed their wonderful arrangements of classic American popular music such as the Duke Ellington tribute and God Bless America. I caught 2 sets and 3 of 4 songs were the same in both sets. While they are still a talented group, I thought their new arrangements were too rushed, the amplification overpowering and the intimacy of the performances was gone. :(

Hopefully, this is just a "growing pain" sort of thing while they adjust to their new performance venue.

Also, they were not listed as performing on last week's performance schedule.

If your DS is a voice major, he will also really enjoy Voices of Liberty, another a capella group in the America pavilion. My dh is a singer and he likes Vybe but he LOVES Voices.

American Vybe is good but as a musician I would say Voices of Liberty are better. Their arrengements are more sophisticated and I include them in one of the best accapella groups, together with Take 6, Unlimited Singers, Swingle Singers and Hi-Lows.

Also, don´t miss 4 for a Dollar. They perform at the Beauty and the Beast´s Pre Show at MGM.

I'm disappointed to hear they've moved outside. The rotunda of the American Experience provided the perfect venue for their unaccompanied style. I'll still hunt them down next week though!

When I was at Epcot November 16, I looked for American Vybe at American Adventure. A member of Voices sent me over to the plaza, but he didn't have a performance schedule. Near the fountain, a wonderful CM from the Epcot Training Team (Rick) did all he could to help me find when I could see the Epcot Vybe. Rick made numerous calls from a gift stand to try and locate them. He finally learned that they were not performing that week because they were working on a completely new show. That may explain why some of these posts didn't think they were as good as in the past. I hope that is the case, because I want to see them in January and maybe they will have improved the show.

My DH and I caught American Vybe at the American Pavillion in May when we were Disneymoning and I thought they were AWESOME!! They announced that there were newlyweds in the audience (Us) and pulled us up "on stage" with them and the girls sang to my DH and the guys sang to me, it was fun!! One of the singers was Jennifer McGill from the New Mickey Mouse Club from the late 80's early 90's. Their CD is good!!!

Interesting that thay now have their own venue. They are amazing to listen to and their summer concert in the American gardens theater was wonderful! It was a different experience from their shows in the rotunda at the American adventure but wonderful none the less.
