Tell me about Akershus

The food was AMAZING. WONDERFUL. We were surprised at how good it was, since most people go for the princesses and not the food. Definitely some of the best food we ate our whole trip.

We both had the mustard-glazed salmon, which was served with baby potatoes and roasted carrots. There's also an appetizer buffet with meats, cheeses, salads, and some seafood; and dessert is served family style on a platter for everyone to share. IIRC kids can get a hot dog, ravioli, or baked chicken?

We had Belle at the greeting/photo, and Cinderella, Aurora, Snow White, and Ariel walking through the dining room. They were all very good and more interaction than we got from any other characters (being two adults with no kids), they all stopped and chatted with us a little bit. (Aurora said that Albuquerque must have been a very long trip on horseback, and wasn't I lucky to have a prince to protect me.)

It used to be a wonderful restaurant with a great buffet. Now it has Princesses.

I had the Traditional Kjottkake and really enjoyed it.

There is a professional photo with Belle that there are 3-4 decent sized photos given to you before you leave. This is included in the price.

We were there for a dinner and saw: Cinderella, Aurora, Ariel and I belive Jasmine.

The buffett is unusual but a great chance to try things that I would never order a plate of from a menu.

Can you elaborate more on this, please? They are giving free photos? :confused3

Now it's a wonderful restaurant with a great buffet, that *also* has princesses.

Which of course not everyone thinks is a bonus—we don't—but we were amazed how good the food was, since some character meals are living proof that you could serve cardboard and people would eat it if they got to see characters. The food was on a par with Narcoossee's and better than Kona.

DD4 and DD2 loved Akershus this year on our visit and DH enjoyed the breakfast options............

Yes we received a 5x10 which came in a Cardboard type Akershus frame. Also inside which i didnt notice at first were 4 additional 4 x6s if i am correct on the size. I was really surprised and both of my girls got seperate pictures but they were free. Very nice considering alot of the other places we went would take your picture before the meal and in the middle of the meal would show you the picture and try to charge you $30 for it (Chef Mickey & 1900 Park Fare did this). I would have considered it if the picture was 1/2 the price.
