Tell me about AirTran

They are coming to my local airport, and I'll be considering them for a spring trip. How far out do they book? How does everyone like them?

We use them a few times a year & like them.

I think it depends on which airport you fly out of as to schedule changes.

Good fares, clean/newer planes, free XM radio.

We have flown Airtran many times and are very happy with their service, They have one of the newest if not the newest fleet of planes in the airline industry, We have probably taken over 30 flights on Airtran and only had one delay at a connecting flight through Atlanta. So no complaints from us. If they have the best deal I definitly recommend them.

We've flown Air Tran probably 5-6 times and are very happy. We've never been delayed. Their frequent flyer program is great...we have the credit card. The free flights are very available.

Wow, all good news! Thanks AirTran travelers. Anyone want to hazard a guess as to when they may release April fares? they're up to about the first week in March right now.

We've flown AirTran once or twice a year for the last 7 years and we've only had one delayed flight, and they held our connecting flight for us. You don't get to choose seats when you buy the tickets (unless you want to pay extra) but you can check in online 24 hours in advance and get seats then. You can sign up on their website to get emails when they are having sales.

Likewise for us we have flown Air-tran also and have them booked for our flight on Monday morning. We had no problems at all- nice, clean, and everyone very friendly. I recommend them highly esp. since they seem to have the best prices for us.
