Hi all!
I have been trying to get ADRs at Chef Mickey's for our first night at WDW, Dec. 14, with no luck yet. Today, a table came available at 1900 Park Fare for that evening, and I took it.

Can you all tell me what the dinner there is like? We're travelling with our four kids, who enjoy the character meals. We would probably end up doing this instead of Chef Mickey's for the trip - is the "fun level" similar?

We've been to Chef Mickey's - 3 years ago - and loved it. Went to 1900 Park Fare for Mary Poppins breakfast - it was fun, but not as fun as Chef Mickey's.

I guess I can keep trying to get Chef Mickey's - but I'm tired of calling and having them say "no availability"! (And this morning, the guy told me they're overbooked!)

Thanks!:surfweb:

We went in Sept 07 and my kids loved it! They are 6,4,and 4 and the theme is Cinderella and the Prince celebrating their first anniversary. There is also the Mad Hatter, Lady Tremaine, and the evil stepsisters. Lots of photo ops.

I have not done CM in many years, so I am not sure about the comparison, but we would do 1900 PF again

we LOOOOOOOOOVE 1900 Park Fare. It's a buffet with amazing selctions. Kids have a buffet of kids food also but can certainly snack on the adult side also.

The characters are great - Cinderella and the Prince come out, and even share a dance at one point. The stepmother and stepsisters then come out and are quite commical. The fairy godmother was in the hall as you wait to enter. No mice (Suzie and Perla) anymore.

These characters can talk and interact which makes it more enchanting for the kids. The prince even asked my DD to dance with him.

Food is amazing - you will love it here - we go even not on the DDP - we pay in full for an amazing meal and entertainment!!

it is more of a show than some of the other meals....the characters are often shouting at each other across the restaurant - the step sisters telling on each other - shouting when the prince comes in to the room trying to get his attention - at times it feel slike you are in the middle of their event which is kind of fun - nice photo op with Cinderella which is hard to get elsewhere other than the castle...if you have girls it is a must - the little boys are often fussed over quite a bit too....it is a fun time

I wouldn't rate the "fun level" the same as Chef Mickey's. Maybe the noise level, since both are quite loud.;)

We did dinner at 1900 in June. The food was just o.k., no one at our table was impressed. (The strawberry soup was real yummy though!) The step sisters were funny, although my DD6 didn't quite know how to take them.:)

I'm glad she got to do it once, but we probably won't go back again. Since you said your kids like character meals, the things us adults complain about probably won't matter to them (my DD6 would rave to you about every character meal she has ever been to!:) ).

I know it's a pain, but keep trying for Chef Mickey's, even after you arrive, you might get lucky. Hope it all works out, here's a little pixie dust your way!:wizard:

We loved our dinner at 1900 PF. The kids had so much fun watching the step-sisters and step-mother and all of the characters were great with their interactions. It was so enjoyable. The service was excellent, too.

We just ate here last Saturday night. I would recommend requesting a table in the main dining room. We were stuck off in a seperate area so we could not see Cinderella and the prince dancing or once we heard a stepsister singing and we couldn't see. This meal had the two stepsisters, fairy godmother, cindy and the prince. The food was good, it was expensive (glad we were on free dining) The selections of food items were different (different countries), but if you aren't picky they were good. We ate at Chef Mickey's too and found it too be good and entertaining too. We were there when it first opened, so I don't think it was as rowdy as I'd always heard that it could be. If you have some little princesses in your family I think they will like 1900, just be sure and get a good table.

Hi
We were at 1900 Park Fare in August. The characters are a lot of fun, but the food wasn't very good. I don't know if we'd go back. We'd much rather go to Chef Mickeys!!

1900 PF has a good selection of food. As a vegetarian, I am often without great options, but they had a decent array of food. My daughter enjoyed the characters when she was really "into" princesses still. But.... you can't go wrong with the atmosphere at Chef Mickey's. The Mouse is beloved by all ages.... including us "old folks". :hippie: Have a blast either way!

Hi
I'm also vegetarian, and I think that there was hardly anthing for me to eat. Even the pasta had meat in it. My DD and I were disappointed. The buffet they used to have was so good, with plenty of veggie options.

This is all very encouraging. I guess I will keep trying for Chef Mickey's, but if I don't get it, 1900 Park Fare sounds like a lot of fun!
Thanks for the pixie dust! :)

Anyone else have any thoughts, comments?
Thank you!!
