Someone said that there was Irish dancing on the tables? Is this correct? How is the food? Just trying to feel out the options and wanna go to Downtown Disney.

they have a very small stage (sort of like a table, but a bit higher) in the center of the floor. The dancing is there every so often.

The food is excellent, as is the beer selection.

On the nights I've been there the band started playing at 8:00 and the dancer would come out every third song or so and dance on one of the tables.

I had a great time and consider it one of my favortie places to eat at WDW.

Raglan Road is WAY up on our list of favorites. There is, indeed, a dancer on a platform (not really a table) who shows up periodically in the evenings. And an Irish band, too. They are all quite good, and it's an immersive experience all around. The atmosphere is great, lively, and just good for the soul.

Some of the things we've found that were yummy: Appetizers include colpucinno, a soup made of cabbage, bacon, and potatoes (actually, a lot better than it sounds in print.) I really like the dalkey duo, which are little battered cocktail sausages perched on the tines of upright forks, with a dipping sauce. Darn good.

Entrees? I've had Kevin's Heavenly Ham twice. It's ham loin (a bit like Canadian bacon), fanned out in slices atop mashed potatoes and a little cabbage. Very hearty and very Irish. DD has had fish and chips; cute presentation in a paper cone. DW has had their version of shepherd's pie, which comes in a tower of stacked ingredients - in college, we always had shepherd's pie on Fridays (leftovers, y'know), but this is NOTHING like cafeteria food. All three of these are quite good.

HOWEVER - my very favorite WDW dessert is at Raglan Road (it may be one of my favorite desserts ever.) It's Ger's bread and butter pudding. It's a really light, fluffy bread pudding in a crock, with two sauces in little pitchers - one a butterscotch, the other more of a sweet cream-based sauce. Poke a hole in the bread pudding, pour one (or both) of the sauces in that cavity, stir it around ... oh. My. Goodness. It is fine, and worth a trip in and of itself.

I highly recommend you check it out.

Thank you guys for the VERY fast reviews!!! I think that we will MOST definately have to check it out!!!

DH and I dined at RR for the first time on 5-11-07. Since it is a relatively new restaurant, it was very crowded. We arrived prior to the live music and dancers, so I can't comment on the entertainment. Because it was so busy, the restaurant was noisy. I can't imagine the volumn once the music would start.

As far a food goes, DH and I were both happy with our choices. We shared an appetizer of drunkin chicken. He had Bangers and Mash with the chicken sausage. I had a pork loin served over mash potatoes with a little cabbage and leeks. Both were good. DH had a banana pudding layered dessert that was very flavorful. I was very suprised at the large number of entree choices and appetizers on the menu.

It is definately worth a try. After dinner at RR, we enjoyed Pleasure Island. It was a fun night.

That sounds awesome! Does it have raisins in it? If so, are there too many to pick out?

We just got back last night. We ate at the California Grill, Le Cellier and a bunch of other places, and Raglan Road may have been the best meal our entire trip!

I had the 'simple salmon' appetizer, the filet and the bread pudding. The food was amazing, as was the entertainment.
I'm afraid it's going to become harder and harder to get an ADR there, much like Le Cellier has become.

I also video taped Danielle dancing. You can watch it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9YhoYm8cGc

Go to Raglan Road! You won't regret it.
