telephone volume control

Does anyone know of a device that I can put on my work phone to allow me to control the handset volume? Right now it is so loud that sometimes I have to hold the phone about a foot and a half from my ear to comfortably hear the person on the other line. Also, I'm sure everyone around me is not interested in hearing what that person has to say.

My phone does not have handset volume control and my company won't do anything about it. Maybe when I have to take sick time and file a claim for ear drum damager.....

Wow! Could you send me that handset? I can usually not hear people on mine, and always have to look for a phone that the volume goes way up. (I am hearing impaired) Your phone sounds like it may have been intended for someone like me. I wonder why the company won't switch it out for you?
