Telephone Tour Referrals

This will be our "official" thread where you may offer yourself to prospective members as a referral for a Telephone Tour only.

I understand that each DVC member is allowed 4 referrals in this program, and the prospective member, as well as the referring member, each will receive a $25 gift card upon completion of the tour.

Prospective members must be brand new, without having prior contact with DVC staff, either in person, telephone, etc.

You can call Disney's DVC office and request a telephone "tour" of DVC, and if you mention an existing member's name and their home state as a referral, you and the member will both receive a $25 gift card. It's an incentive for members to refer their friends and family (and complete strangers) to DVC.

The guide on the phone will talk to you about DVC, how the points work, and explain to you the various resorts and incentives they are offering. I can't remember exactly how long it takes for the "tour" but I'm thinking about 30 minutes or so. You can ask any questions you might have about DVC. The guides do not give you a "hard sell" or put any pressure on you like some timeshare salespeople do.

The only restriction is that the person taking the telephone tour cannot have already taken a DVC tour either on the phone or in person or be in the DVC database.

It's an easy way to learn more about DVC and get a handy $25 gift card at the same time.

Also, I posted this on another thread but thought it might be useful here...you must live in an eligible state to qualify for the gift card promo.

Current "Eligible Jurisdiction" is: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wyoming, and Wisconsin.

If you reside in a state other than what's listed above, you would not receive the giftcard (and from some of the responses to other threads, I don't know if you will be made aware of that at the time of the "phone tour"). This would apply to both parties.

Thank you for posting this on this thread, and the other. We are in MN and we never got our cards. The guide never mentioned we were not able to get it when my sister asked him several times about it.

Hi Kristine -- You should still call your guide and inquire about not receiving the giftcards. If that's the reason you didn't...they definitely should have told you instead of leaving you hanging all this time. Also, that list was from marketing materials mailed out when the phone tours first started last year, it wouldn't hurt to make sure it hasn't changed. Good luck!
