I have been receiving a minimum of 1-2 calls per week asking if I am interested in renting or selling my DVC points. The phone numbers coming up on the CID are from various area codes, usually from Florida. Sometimes the CID indicates a person's name sometimes just a city. I tell each caller that I am on the Do No Call List. I have tried to get the name of the company with each call, but the caller usually hangs up after I tell them I am on the Do Not Call List. Is anyone else having this problem? I know there were some threads in the past about similar calls. I would like to actually report some of these companies, but without the company names, that is not really possible. Any suggestions?

I've been getting the calls too, and I'm also on the Do Not Call List. I'm looking forward to hearing a solution to the problem.

DH was really ticked because every time he would answer the "Florida call" no one would be on the other end. So when after calling repeatedly for several days he finally got someone live, the guy was actually arguing with him when he asked to be taken off of all lists.

I'm not sure if this would work or not, but why don't you record all of the phone numbers and report them directly to the agency that manages the do not call list? Perhaps you can share those numbers with Disney too.

This kind of harrassment, and that's exactly what it is, is ridiculous and AGAINST THE LAW if you are on the do not call list.

Put the phone numbers into google and you'll usually come up with the company. We've been bugged by them ourselves and told them we're willing to send our lawyer after them. That makes them go away pronto.

Before you tell the telemarketer that you are on the Do Not Call List...get the company name and location (city, state).

Because of different devices you can plug into the computer and the ability to purchase a phone number that rings through your computer, it is easier for companies to make it seem they are calling from somewhere they are not.

After you get that information, tell them that you are on the Do Not Call List and have taken their information and will seek action.

I would suggest this as well. I would actually suggest giving the impression that you are interested in using their services. Then when you get further into the conversation you should be able to find out the company information.

Absolutely do this, and then go to your computer and go to the national do not call registry and report the number. It's very easy to do online, and I've only had to do this once for the timeshare scammers, and it stopped right away! I hardly ever get any unwanted telemarketers at all anymore because I am always very diligent about reporting those who abuse it.

Of course, you could also do what a friend of mine does. He gets into a discussion with the people and tries to extract as much information as he can. He asks for the number of the supervisor so he can ask questions later etc. etc. or the name of the company and the name of the CEO. Then he sets his alarm for 3 AM and CALLS THE CEO!!! :D

This makes me smile :)
