Hi everyone. We are going to WDW with our son for his first trip and he will be a couple of weeks under 2. He is now months and I have seen no sign of his last four back teeth (the molars). I read somewhere they come through any time between age 1-2 years of age and I am convinced they will come through on our holiday which will be a nightmare. Is any one able to tell me when they are likely to come through, perhaps from personal experience? Does it sound realistic that a 23 month old will be teething? Or is it likely it will all be over by then? Thanks for the help

My older dd had all of her baby teeth by 20 months. My younger dd is 25 months, and just yesterday I noticed the 2 bottom ones poking through. They both got their first tooth at the same age, so I was surprised that dd2 didn't have all of her teeth around the same time as big sister. I think it is pretty random.

Have you tried Hyland's teething tablets? They are a homeopathic remedy that worked wonders for us.

My kids were easy teethers- didn't even know they were teething most of the time. DD had 2 year molars by 18 months and DS had 3 in at his 2 year appointment. He must have been teething when we were in WDW fir his 2nd birthday, but we didn't know it. I would suggest to take with you whatever you use to help his pain- oral medication or topicals in case you need them. I know mine didn't usually have a hard time, but it seemed like the canines were the most difficult, worse than molars. Try not to worry too much, hopefully it won't be too much of an issue.

Both my children had no problem with these teeth. In fact, I didn't even know DS was teething until I noticed he had four more teeth then he did before. I honestly have no idea when they came in. DD was a little more picky about food, but otherwise, no major issues, and again, I really didn't even know she was teething until the teeth were in. And I usually notice everything. It was the teeth that came in before those, the canine teeth, that were the real problem with both of them.

I hope your DS has a similar, easy teething experience pixiedust:

My son's 2 year molars didn't bother him a bit. I'm not really sure when they came in - we didn't notice them until later!

My dd just turned 2. She is a much slower teether. I think she's a long way from her molars. I can tell when she's teething - her nose runs like a faucet, and she nurses more during the night.

When her teeth are bothering her, Hyland's teething tablets help.

Thanks for the advice. I am guessing there is a possibility that they might come through when we are there, but I'm glad to know that the consensus is that these ones don't cause a problem. He was generally quite good teething with his other ones, and now that I think about it, his canines were the worst. I feel confident that that if they do decide to come through in those two weeks, we probably wont notice, as he will be so excited about being on holiday and being in WDW. He may get picky with his food, that happened before, but I can cope with that. Thanks again, my mind is at rest!

Every kid does what they do in their own time. My eldest by 1 year had all his front teeth and his 1 year molars. By 2 years his 2 year molars were in.

My youngest turned 1 last month and has 4 teeth

I second the suggestion for Hylands teething tablets... not the gel the tablets. They are easy for kids to take and they work without drugging your childs whole system.

I never leave home without my hylands

I used "Little Teethers" teething tablets from Babies R Us. I also froze bananas that were cut in half and put on craft sticks. My 18 mo old love them and they kept her busy for a while. Maybe a cup of crushed ice from disney while in the comfort of her stroller would help...If it's hot she would enjoy the cool dribbles too!
