We will be at BCV on Sunday and my DD is obsessed with exercising this summer to be prepared for soccer (that starts in less than a month). She wants to use the gym at the resort. She is 14 (almost 15). Can she use the equipment? I think she is crazy, but she really takes her sports seriously.

Thanks,
DJ

If your under 16 I think you have to have somebody with you cause when I went to use it they asked me if I was 16 and I told them yes (I really was) and that was that so I would assume that you are required to have somebody with you if your under 16

She can always do some laps in SAB against the current. That would be some serious energy used and lots of muscles involved. :)

Yes isn't a swimmer, she like biking and running (which she could do around the lake, but she was hoping to use an exercise bike in the gym).

If your DD is serious about fitness, that's great.
What REALLY bothers me, and this only happens at VB since it's unsupervised, is when kids play on the equipment.

I stay in hotels half of my life, and I can't count the number of times kids play on the treadmill and get hurt. In addition, they really abuse the equipment.

Again, since your DD is not there to play, that doesn't pertain to her. :smokin:

Oh I understand. My DD also gets upset when she sees kids doing this (and it ruins it for the serious athletes). My DD would never do something like that. She really takes her work out serious (too much so, I'm afraid--she is worried about try outs for soccer that will be two weeks after WDW...honestly I just wish she didn't care so much and would just go and have fun and forget about try outs---but the coach keeps sending emails reminding them to stay in shape and to keep working out because try outs are coming and he is only taking those that are in good shape. So she is stressing :scared: ).

If she needs an adult to be with her DH will go with her (I am allergic to gyms ;) ).

According to this the minimum age is 14 and guests aged 14-17 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
