Teens rejected from Prom

Just curious what your thoughts on on these dresses. These girls were rejected from entering the prom because their dresses were too revealing. I do think a couple may be too low cut, comparing to what we wore when I was in high school Many years ago. So what do you think?

Disregarding the fact that I found a lot of the dresses pretty hideous, I can't imagine what the kids they let in were wearing. Ponchos?

I don't see any issues with any of the dresses pictured.

There was only one that I was iffy on, but no, I don't think they were at all inappropriate for PROM. Please. If that is the worst thing those kids are doing, then I commend them.

I would have to agree. It is a shame their big night was spoiled with controversy.

A few were borderline and a few girls really didn't have the figures to pull off their dresses but I can't say they were bad enough to send them home.

I am pretty conservative when it comes to teen dresses but I thought they were okay for prom.

Those dresses are mild compared to what i have seen on the girls at our high school prom

I don't see anything wrong with the dresses. I've seen girls at church wearing similar cuts.

I wonder if the school published the "dress code" for the evening or if it was an on the spot decision by the door watchers?

Would you rather have the girls dressed like that hanging out who knows where, or in a building with school staff?

Maybe the dresses weren't all that flattering, but they were not overly revealing. Those poor girls had to miss their prom - that's a shame.

Well, I was honestly expecting something slutty. But as a person who dresses quite conservatively (relatively speaking)...I would have worn these to my prom and I wouldn't hesitate to where something similar (but age appropriate) today.

I guess they could have worn a habit. Nothing says formal like dressing like a penguin.


Viewing the slide show--I am curious as to what frocks the ladies had on who were not refused admission.


I think the entire prom section at our local Dillard's would have not been allowed.

Ok, I was expecting something else. I was prepared to defend the school, as most proms do require that the dress at least meet the dress length dress code. While I do think some would have looked better in a different style, I did NOT see anything wrong with what those girls had on.

Those seem to be standard dresses. I wonder if those pictures actually show the banned dresses.

I saw worse than that at my prom last year! I think those dresses are hideous, but if they're denied prom -- some people need to be denied leaving their houses. Those are mild compared to some...

I went to prom in the early 90's and the dresses back then showed just as much cleavage plus short dresses were in style and 95% of the prom dresses were short.

I wish I had a picture of my junior prom dress. It was darn cute.
