Teens at Vero?

Do teenagers like going to Vero? We just went for a very quick (1 night) visit this past week after our stay at WDW and we LOVED IT!

We just can't fit in another trip in the near future, but we DO want to go back. The problem is, our kids are growing up! Yes, it is true, they are changing and each year is different. We figured we would try to go to Vero for spring break in 2007 (our 2006 spring break is already planned with a Disney Cruise) but our twin DDs will be teens by that time.

Will they still find it fun? Is there stuff to do? Will they meet other kids to hang out with (they seem to like that now even).

I would love to hear what your teenagers think of the resort.

I took 2 teen boys (17,18) a couple of years ago. They enjoyed it. Beach, videos (i believe they were free) available to check out, tennis, basketball, shuffleboard, pool, etc.

Since you have daughters, be aware that other teens means teen boys, also! I'm sure mine were flirting, but for the next week (we started at Vero 2 days and then spent five days at WDW) we had to put up with fairly constant cell phone calls to my sons buddy from a girl he had met at the Vero pool.

In the past our visits to Vero consisted mostly of beach and pool time. This past year some friends opened up a whole new experience. It is costly though. Our DD 12 at the time loved doing the crafts with Miss Rita. She is a wonderful local gal who brings her crafting talents to the gazebo a couple times a week. They did t-shirt paintings, sand casting, jewelry making. It was fun. The worst part of the trip was finding out that the teen boys still 17-18 still aren't old enough to rent a jet ski even though they have a valid drivers license.

Plan a wonderful. "pixie dust" headed your way. Spring breaks are great. We have our trip planned already.

I really want to go back here. I can't believe how much we all enjoyed it there.

At lunch today, DH and I were talking and we 'may' consider going next summer. We had made a promise to only go to Florida once a year because it is SO costly....but...if we drive for our two trips next year instead of flying it wouldn't cost as much.

I don't know. But I am SO glad to hear that older kids and teens like it there.

NOW I have to figure out where to get a 'boogie board'. I bought what I thought were boogie boards for my DDs but there is not strap. I can see from the waves you need a strap to hold on to it or you will lose your board.

I guess I have to go back to the store and look around some more.
