Will anyone be camping the week of june 23rd with teenagers? I have a DD(13) and a DS(15). Also, in this age of cell phones, do you allow your teenagers to tour the parks with out your supervision?

I'm 18 and will be there that week with my aunt and 7 year old cousin, which means I will be taking her in the park since my aunt doesn't like the parks. Most of the time when we camp we make it a family thing so there are four teens, and the parents let us go to the parks with out them as long as there were at least two of us going

We'll be there the week after you. I am the parent of the poster above, and I always let my teens go in on their own as long as they take their phone and have at least two of them at all times. They even take the bus and go to Disney Quest, Typhoon Lagoon, etc on their own. They are 18, almost 17, and 16. They also take their younger brother or a 7 year old cousin with them sometimes.

My boys have been roaming the entire grounds of WDW since they were 14 & 15 without us, but with cell phones.

The 14 & 15 trip they had to stay together.

The 17 & 18 trip they did not.

The 19 & 20 trip we also brought their girlfriends along. Only rule, they couldn't be at the hotel unless either me or hubby was at the hotel.

We always also had one sit down meal planned per day. They were required to join us for that meal.

I think the kids would do fine on their own touring the parks. Our kids have been fine ....especially with the cell phones. It's so easy to keep in touch and keep tabs on everyone. I think they are a huge asset while on vacation, allowing everyone a bit of freedom, and yet you can make plans in an instant to meet up. My younger son was 15 in May..and he was off to MK a couple of times on his own...when his older siblings just wanted to hang by the pool. He would go off with his sister to Epcot..and when he was bored of touring the countries(which she loves)..he would hit World Showcase and Soarin'. ;) Gives the kids a sense of independence..yet at the same time you know where everyone is.:thumbsup2
