We are going with a large group to Vero Beach resort this March. We are taking our 16 year old son and are wondering if he will get bored. Do any of you have any tips on what teenagers might enjoy? The younger children will be much easier!

We brought our 2 teenage daughters to Vero a couple years ago and they had a good time. The youngest (15 at that time) loved it and could have stayed there an entire week. But she really gets involved in things and can play with kids half her age. Our oldest daughter (17 at the time) laid in the sun and listened to music the three days we were there. I don't think that she would have made it a whole week without being bored. I think that a lot of it depends on what your teen likes to do and if you try to find things outside the resort for them to do.

It really depends on how many other teens there are at the same time. March is quite a busy time so hopefully there will be a few for him to buddy up with, there are teen nights organised (pizza nad a movie or bowling ) and , if my daughter is any guide ,while it may be a struggle to get him to go, that is a good way for them to meet some of the others. The boogie boards are usually popular with kids that age.

My two teenagers, 14 and 13 loved Vero over Thanksgiving. They love to swim, loved to check out the board games at night, rent movies (we also brought dvd's). My son loved to boogie board in the ocean, we just made sure we went down to the beach next door that had a lifeguard.

I took 2 18 year old boys last May for a couple of days before we went on to WDW. They swam, walked on the beach, played basketball, rented movies and appeared to have a good time.

I'm sure they weren't bored 'cause I told DS this weekend that we were going to Vero again for a couple of days before WDW and it was his choice whether to come along or meet us later in Orlando. (He's driving home from college, anyway, and is perfectly capable of catching his own plane and joining us). His answer: "Why would I not want to go to the beach?" There you have it.

Of course it probably didn't hurt that there were teenage girls around last May also.
