Teenager losing interest

Bill and I are taking ten of them to WDW in June - our son and nine of his friends (boys and girls). They are all very excited. I've been told that immediately after graduation I need to have a video camera ready because the ten of them are going to yell out "We're going to Disney World!!" They are all either 17 or 18 yrs old and very excited.

We've got a GV reserved for a week. Should be fun.

I'm planning on being in Orlando next week for business and I'm going to try to get the graduation Mickey ears for the ten of them if they have them out yet at World of Disney.

Sounds like a great trip. We have 5 kids (adults now) and we always had at least 2 friends along. I miss those trips.

Nope, they still love it. We have been the last 5 years in a row. We plan to keep going as long as everyone wants too. The kids are 10, 15, and 17 now.

My 12 year old shows no interest in heading back. I suspect he will change his mind in a year or two. He can't hold out against his determined grandma forever.

My dd turned 6, at WDW, on her first trip there. She has never looked back!!! She had a friend go with her when she was there for the girls' 13th birthdays...the other mom was there as well. We had told the girls they could head off on their own but they prefered to hang with us. They did take off for a few hours at MK though.
We are heading down, with dd who is now 17, next month. She told me she would rather grab something to eat at Mara than to go to Boma with her dad and I. So much better than paying for her to pick at her food. She is old enough, and comfortable enough, to do what she chooses at WDW. She can stay in the room alone, or go grab a bite to eat.

Here's the funny thing. I am booking a studio villa for dd and two of her friends, for graduation 2012. They are all WDW nuts....so they wanted a trip there after graduation. My gift is the villa. I can only imagine the fun they will have being on their own at WDW!!
I seriously doubt my dd will outgrow WDW.

I was worried about our DS17 during our last trip. He spent a lot of time texting during the trip. However, he just let me read the beginning of his semester long research paper and it brought tears to my eyes. I think I have him hooked!

Our boys are 14, 13, and DD is 7. All still love Disney. We do give the boys more freedom since they aren't into all the character things that DD is into. And I'm sure that having 2 boys so close in age really helps since they always have a friend to hang out with.

Kids also love Disney Cruises so we mix it up with Cruise...then WDW...then ski trip, etc.

This summer we only have time for a cruise and quick 2 days in Orlando. Since oldest son hasn't been to Universal yet that is what we are doing for our park days...no disney parks this trip. But....we are staying at BLT! Sometimes just staying at a DVC villa is what we need to feel the Disney Magic!

And a Labor Day weekend stay at Aulani will top off our Disney experiences this year!

Heck our DD is barely 2, and I think if she and her future sibling ever not interested in going to Disney we'll still be ok. Because I'll still want to go... :rotfl: More points for moi!

This is my thought exactly though DS is 4 now. We bought DVC for us, and half the time we give DS to the in-laws and have couple-time at Disney with friends. I'm pretty sure _I_ won't get tired of it, so whether or not he does ... I know I'll be able to use the points. :thumbsup2
