So I got home today and went through the mail in the den. I tossed the junk mail in the recycling bin and put the rest away. Then my 14 year old son got home from school and went into the den to use the computer. When I walked by, I found him sitting on the couch looking at some kind of magazine that I didn't recognize. I asked him what he was reading and he held it up. It was a catalog containing women's undergarments that I had tossed in the recycling bin. He said he saw it in there and it looked interesting. I said, "Why do you want to look at underwear?" And he said, "Geez mom, it's only natural!" Duh! I shoulda known...

Yes, he is honest to a fault! He has Asperger's Syndrome which makes him a very matter-of-fact kind of kid. He doesn't seem to have the ability to tell a lie. This is great in some respects. He'll come downstairs and say, "OK, I might as well tell you now...I was watching Family Guy upstairs...am I in trouble?" If he hadn't told me I probably never would have known but he can't help himself. On the other hand, he'll say, "Geez Grandma, what happened to your hair? It doesn't look so good today!" Ah yes, brutal honesty....

OP I gonna tell you same as I told neighbor YOU need to throw out GARBAGE on grabage day if you don't want son in it.

Many yrs ago I was babysitting next door neighbor boys that was about 10 an 11 yrs old I seen them an their friends all huddled in a circle at the very back of their yard an I watched a few mins nobody moved so I go investagate an Playboy mags went flying in all directions boys scattered quickly.

I got the mags from neighbor boys by telling them I would not tell their momma. That day when momma come to pay me I told momma to put the garbage in the garbage on garbage day next time she thought for a couple seconds said THey didn't I said YES they did.

Even better out the garbage you don't want kid in, in the garbage on a school day lol

well, fwiw, it's not an Aspie thing; it's a teenage thing. For us w/ DD, sometimes we get caught up in the whole ASD worldview stuff, but it's kind of refreshing to see our kids deal with "typical" stuff.

true story - family friends had a 12 yr old who was spending a lot of time locked in the bathroom so they decided to hook him up - got him his own mag subscription to playboy because they didn't want him to feel like what he was doing was wrong! love the family but man oh man do i question their judgment on this one... something tells me it was the dads idea...
