teenaged boys and room keys etc

We will be taking our teenage boys to Disney world this summer. We are going to allow them to have alot of time on their own. My only worry is them keeping a hold of their room key, tickets, etc. I cant really think of what they would carry that would be a safe keeper (I dont think I could get them to carry a fanny pack!). They have both managed to lose phones, wallets and large sums of money at several different points already...besides duct taping it to them, how can they keep a hold of important stuff?

A lanyard with the plastic holder. That's what I got for my teens and it worked!

Our boys ended up happily slipping the room cards in their secure deep pockets. No problems.

They are twin 16 yr olds. Even our 12 yr old was fine.
Don't worry!

We stand there an watch DD put her KTTW ticket away as we enter parks after that well.... so far she has done wonderful with it.

We also allow her 50.00 of charging privilages so she doesn't have to carry money but can still buy a drinks an snacks if she needs to while out on her own she knows that if she blows that money there will be no more.

Ds15 always wears cargo shorts. Since the pockets have velcro (or other) closures, he doesn't worry about anything accidentally falling out.

where can you get those?

You can get the Disney lanyards at the resort gift shop or probably a gift shop near the entrance to the parks. If you search ebay, you can find them there. I had one from my college. Many, many people wear these so your sons won't look out of the ordinary.

The lanyards are the pin-trading lanyards but you don't have to pin-trade. I plan on buying one to hold the tickets and keys in but no trading for me. When I get home from Disney, it'll be a cool lanyard to hang my work ID on.


They definitely won't want to wear a fanny pack, but would they wear the travelers belt that does the same thing as a fanny pack but is flush to the skin, under the clothing?

freinds of ours have a lanyard with a plastic case on the end of it.i think they got it at disney. it has a hindged lid and can carry several cards and cash.it looks like a small cig.case.it has worked for them for several years.

I got them on eBay before we left. They were much less expensive (for the same ones) than in the park.
