I don't remember this at all! does anybody else? I did'nt even know they were on any Disney owned TV stations... I'm very very confused

I didn't know they were disney, but they used to be back where Power Rangers are now - near that new stunt show (what is that called again? geez - I've seen the show even! LOL) - my son used to LOVE them! LOL

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and April O'Neill used to do Meet and Greets and a little show on the backlot YEARS ago (like 14 years ago...). One of the Backstreet Boys - Kevin Richardson - was actually a TMNT (and I believe he was "Michaelangelo" too!) long before he was in a boy band. Your picture may just be with a Backstreet Boy.

haha, that would be pretty darn funny!!! Why Disney? Did they used to own part of TMNT?

I remember the Turtles being there. My daugher got to meet them. when she was about 8. (she is 21 now) Foward 8 years later and she got to appear onstage with The Backstreet Boys. Kevin Richardson sang the song "Perfect Fan "to her.
Kevin Richardson used to work at Disney and was one of turtles.
We wonder to this day if we met him first at WDW.
Enjoy those pics. See even turtles can become famous. Anything can happen at Disney!

I remember the Ninja Turtles. They were on the New York Street (aprox. the same area where the Power Rangers are now) from 1990 (I think) until 1994. All four turtles plus April would appear and do autographs. If I can remember right, the turtle were some of the first to switch from signitures to using stamp autographs. I know they were using stamps by the ends, though April always signed.

As far as why they were at MGM, I believe Disney wanted more variety of characters at MGM in the early ears. This was before films like Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, Toy Story, and other contemporary classics debuted, so at those times, there were fewer characters to go around the three parks. MGM would have a history of having characters from other studios doing meet-and-greets including the Muppets (who Disney would later aquire many years later), Tom and Jerry, Ace Ventura Pet Detective, the characters from R.L. Stein's "Goosebumps" books, and others.

I remember that show! I was watching an old tape of old Disney vacations when that show came on. Was that show cheezy, but it was fun. :) And yeah, Ace Ventura & the Muppets shows were also at MGM. A Doug show was there too.

Wish they would come back....my son 4 loves the turtles - just saw movies 1, 2, and 3 recently and it stays in the player for days now - I think just to get back at his sister with her strawberry shortcake DVD :rotfl:

I have pictures and video of my DS in eary 90's getting the Turtle autographs. We had to go through several autograph times to get all of their autographs!

I've got a few pictures of my oldest son (he was 3) and at the time he loved Ninja Turtles (back then he called them dewey's, not sure why, but he did, lol). Anyhow, I remember all of the coming out, doing a little dance and even April came in a yellow jumpsuit...

hehe, believe me, I know about the Doug show...

Doug was bought by Disney though - as were the Muppets. I don't recall Ace, but that's still pretty cool!
