Teenage Mutant Backseat Dancers - 11/18 UPDATE! P25 - Leaving on a jet plane

Looks like a great day in Chicago! You packed a lot in, and the girls were still smiling! I'm with Elle on the floating glass box thingy. Just looking at the pic of Dee standing out there makes my knees feel weak. :lmao: She looks like she's floating in air.

Nice menu choices - hey- it's vacation! :cool1:

Nope.
You can't make me spill the beans before the chapter's posted.

Not gonna happen.

But.....

I will reveal everything about our meeting...

Every. Thing.

That's it!!! I'm going into hiding for a couple of weeks. Or months or years. It's been nice knowing you all.

Maybe you and Elle can go skydiving?

And you're darned tootin'! Vacation means freedom from food oppression!!!

That's it!!! I'm going into hiding for a couple of weeks. Or months or years. It's been nice knowing you all.

We'll still be here when you get back.
Except people will be looking askance at you.

Well, then that's ok. Neither DH or I like caramel popcorn. I don't know about DSS but I'm not worried about him.

Yep, still friends?

Smidgy, it sounds like you need to have a staycation in Chicago.

sounds like a good idea! see, so many of those things were added after we left in 1982. It is actually a great city!! with so much to offer.

a lot of people don't realize that it is a "city of neighborhoods". in my youth, Iloved hanging around the various areas. (north side only)

I loved Lincoln Park and Newtown. Clark street. the many varied restaurants, bsrs, clubs, shops. art fairs, etc. and the beaches.

and culture! I LOVE the Museum of Science and INdustry. LOVE the Field Museum. Art Institute. arlignton race track Morton Arboretuem Brookfield zoo. Lincoln park zoo.
guess, in a lot of ways, I miss my home town...

Christmas in July

July third, to be precise.
But first...

We had a bit of a drive ahead of us.
Eight hours and fifteen minutes to be exact.

Pretty straight forward.
Chicago, through Kalamazoo...
Who wouldn't want to go through Kalamazoo?
Just to say, "I've been to Kalamazoo."
It just rolls off the tongue, don't you think?
Do you know anyone who's been to Kalamazoo?
No?
I thought not.

...through Kalamazoo, past London, Ontario and Hamilton, Ontario...

All the way to our destination... Niagara Falls.

Except we weren't being allowed to do it.

Oh, I wanted to.

But noooooo...
Someone was insistent, downright persistent, possibly persnickety,
that we add even more time onto our already long day.

"Go through Cleveland!" She chirped.

But that would add another forty five minutes’ drive time.

"Yes, but you have to. You have to come see me." She cajoled.

Plus we'd have to cross the border in Buffalo, much, much busier than the other way.

"You will go through Cleveland. You have to. You must. You will." She chided.

But, that would...

"YOU GO THROUGH CLEVELAND AND COME SEE ME!!!!"

Okay! Okay! When?

"We'll do lunch. It's decided." She decided.

What??? Lunch? Do you have any idea what time we'd have to be up for that to happen?

"All right." She granted. "We can do a late lunch. But no later than two o'clock!"

But that means I have to get up at... at.... FIVE AM!?!?!?!?

"Stop whining and just make it happen!"

Yes ma'am.

So that's how it was decided that on this day, we were going to meet orangecats2 and family.

She was very subtle.

The alarm went off at the ungodly vacationing hour of five in the ay em.

I struggled mightily to rouse myself.
Every fiber of my being was screaming, "Just hit snooze! Do it! DO IT!!"

But I knew... oh, how I knew, that 'brace 'o felines' would not be mollified by any exhaustion excuses.

I heaved my still partially snoozing self out of bed and staggered to the shower.

I sneered at the slumbering forms of the supine sirens.
Their time would come.
I would not be alone in my anguish.

I woke Dee up at a quarter to six.

She didn't take it well... but after shaking her hard enough to induce a concussion,
she agreed to get up.

Fifteen minutes later, I repeated the process with Elle.

I then, of course, had to constantly field their complaints.
Over... and over... and over again:
"Why do we have to get up so early??"

Because!
orangecats2 says so... and I'm a little afraid of her.
I said so!
That's why!
Now get going!

Strangely enough, we were fed, watered, packed and on the road by six forty five.

Chicago morning rush hour traffic isn't that bad.
Possibly because anybody with any sense whatsoever was still sleeping.

There’s something you should know. None of us had a cell phone that worked in the States.
Oh, sure, Dee’s phone would work… at an exorbitant rate.
So exorbitant that it was really only for emergencies…
in which case, if we had to call 911… any of our phones would work.

So there’s traffic, there’s accidents, there are innumerable things that could delay our getting to our lunch date on time.

Yeah… I said “date”.
Don’t tell Ruby… or orangecat’s hubby… wait… he was there… and Ruby knows about it….
Nevermind.

Where was I?
Right. How do we tell OC2 if we’re running late? Or even on time?

Well, we do have our iPods. So as long as we can find a Wi-Fi hotspot, we can communicate via email.

It occurs to me, that when our parents traveled, they had no way of letting people know where they were.
Oh, sure they did. You stopped at a gas station and used the pay phone.

If I had younger readers… I would’ve just blown their collective minds.

Now, those same parents, unless they've kept up with the tech of the times,
and many haven't, couldn't contact anyone.
"Can I use your phone? To make a long distance call?"
"No."

Anyway, we stopped at a rest stop for gas and I emailed OC2 to let her know we were pretty much on time.

Good thing too. I shudder to think of the ramifications if we'd been late! :scared:

Around one thirty - two o'clock we pulled into the parking lot at Rubin's Deli.
I didn't know what kind of place this was going to be,
but orangecats insisted, so... here we were.

We went inside and were seated right away.
I'm guessing that two o'clock isn't exactly a busy time in the industry.

A few minutes later, OC2 et al graced us with their presence.

While her husband and son stood back, 'cats-twice' approached me suspiciously.
I had told her I would be wearing my avatar, but she wasn't taking any chances.

"Are you pkondz?" She brusquely demanded.
I nodded.
She was still suspicious.
"Who did you just have a DISmeet with?" She grilled.
"Nebo, Smidgy, Marie and Yellowtink." I stammered out.
She grudgingly accorded me with a temporary trusting permit and nodded.
"I think it's you."
She held out her hand, but I decided to break the ice and gave her a hug.

She seemed to not be too relaxed yet, so I pinched her bum.

She seemed to like that a whole lot more.

Once we settled in, perused the menus and placed our orders, Carrie got down to business.
"So?" She wanted to know. "Has anyone asked you for directions yet?"
"Yes." I replied. "Twice."
Elle and Dee weren't going to let me have this little white lie.
"That's not true. One time, you just volunteered directions. That lady hadn't asked you yet."

That's true.
While I did give directions twice, I was only asked once.

Still, Carrie appeared tickled pink at my answer.
Either that, or she was still enjoying the bum pinch.

Probably the latter.

"Look!" She cried. "I was so excited about this meet that I painted my nails."
I made her hand model them and told her I'd put the picture in the Tr.

See? Toldja.

While I neglected to take any food porn pictures, a couple of things stood out.

I knew, even before I got there, that I was going to order the matzo ball soup.
I'd seen it on their online menu and knew right away I had to have it.
I'd heard about it years and years ago (probably on MASH :rolleyes1).

And it was good, too!

Since we were in a deli, I figured I should have Pastrami on rye, which I did.
But it came with Thousand Island dressing... which was weird.
At least I thought so.
Still good, though.

Dee ordered a BLT wrap, without the T.
I teased her a bit about it not being a BLT then.
She defended herself with a guilty "But I don't like tomatoes."
And Carrie's son came to her rescue (like a knight in shining armour?)
"A BLT is Bacon, Lots of bacon and Tons of bacon." He opined.

 Makes sense to me!

There was one unfortunate incident during the meal.
I had a pickle spear with my sandwich.
Elle had one with her food (can't remember what she had... pretty sure it was a wrap, too.)
And Dee had one too.
I guess she likes pickles about as much as she likes tomatoes... so she gave it to Elle.

!! What the hey! I'm the one doing all the driving, taking you ungrateful brats on awesome excursions...

And you DON'T GIVE THE PICKLE TO ME????

I'm hurt. And bitterly disappointed.

Towards the end of the meal, Carrie presented us with gifts.
She gave us Disney pins from the Pirate's League collection.

"I don't know if you collect these or not.
If you don't you can start with these or trade them for others."

She's trying to convert me!
Soon I'll be a slave to every pin bearing CM in Disney!

It's a conspiracy I tell ya!

Seriously, I was quite touched that she did that,
she didn't have to.
It was a very nice surprise.

(And those of you who are saying, "But ponzi always was a little touched" can just pipe down!)

All too soon, it was time to go.
We asked our waitress to take a picture for posterior.

Posterity.

It really was a nice DISmeet with some really nice people.

And Carrie?
Any time you want to dictate another meeting?
I'll be there.
It really was very nice to finally meet you and put a face to the name.

We left Rubin's (and orangecats2 and family) around three pm.
But we weren't leaving town quite yet.

The truth is that when I had originally mentioned that I was driving to Niagara Falls,
Carrie asked if I was going via Cleveland.
And if so, maybe we could meet up.

I thought about it, did a bit of research,
and when I saw that it was only a little longer,
and that there was something in Cleveland I'd like to see....
The die was cast.

Originally, we were going to try and meet on the way back,
but it just worked out better this way.

Now...
What was it in Cleveland that I was so excited to see?

I'm sure some of you figured it out immediately.
"The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame!"

And.... you're wrong.

Maybe if I'd had more time, but we didn't.
But we did have time for something else.

>>>... continued next post ... >>>

Christmas in July

>>>... continued from previous post ... >>>

Anyone ever seen the movie, "A Christmas Story"?
It's the one written by Jean Shepherd and is set in the 1940s.
It follows a young boy named Ralphie who tries to convince his parents to get him a BB gun for Christmas.
Hilarity ensues.

If you've seen it, you probably liked it. Might even love it.
If you haven't.... it'll be on somewhere next Christmas season.
Watch it!

Ruby and I first ran across it in 1991.
I'm pretty sure I've watched it every year since.
I owned a VCR copy and then a DVD. Still do.

It almost wasn't made.
Studio execs didn't want to do it.
Bob Clark, the director, made a very different movie called Porky's.
It was a smash hit.
The studio asked him to direct Porky's II, which he agreed to do...
provided they first let him make A Christmas Story.

And thus an instant classic was born.

So what does this have to do with Cleveland?
Twenty cities were scouted and Cleveland was selected as the location for shooting the film.

Sort of.

That winter, there was no snow in Cleveland, so many exterior shots, including all the school shots,
were done in Canada (St. Catharines, ON)

But the house! Ralphie's house, was in Cleveland.
(Ironically, the movie reference to the house being on Cleveland St.
is not a reference to the city,
but the actual street in Hammond, Indiana where Jean Sheppard lived.)

In 2004, the house was purchased sight unseen on eBay for $150,000.
When the new owner arrived, the former owners were long gone with their cash.
That was when the new owner found out that the property was valued at $30,000.

Undaunted, he then spent another $240,000 gutting and restoring it.
Not finished yet, he purchased the house across the street to be a museum.
The house next to that is a gift shop. (Not sure who owns that one.)

The new owner (obviously) was a big fan of the movie.
How did he pay for all this?
From proceeds from his company... The Red Rider Leg Lamp Company.
If you've seen the movie, you know what the company makes.

We arrived around three thirty.
I had read online about the parking.
It's free all up and down the street.
But sure enough, just next door, there was someone frantically waving a flag,
trying to get me to pull in to his paid parking lot.
Only $5!

I parked right in front of my destination instead.
For free.

We went into the gift shop and got tickets to the house tour.
Last one of the day, at three forty five.
Made it! Just.

We went next door to check out the museum.
If you haven't seen the movie, this won't make much sense.
If you have and you love it too... enjoy!

Mellinda Dillon's (the mom) housecoat
and Randy's "I can't put my arms down!" snow suit.

"Deck the halls with boughs of horry.
Fa ra ra ra rah, ra ra ra rah."

Tuques (from top): Randy's, Schwartz's and Flick's

Some of the toys that were in the window at Higbee's

Whoops! Almost three forty five!
Time to head across the street!

Look familiar?
The interior shots were all filmed in a sound studio in Toronto.
The house is far to small to accommodate the cast, film crew, etc. that a movie requires.
(Did you know that the Bumpus' hounds are different depending on whether they're filmed indoors or out?)
Nevertheless, the new owner tried to make the interior match with the movie.

Okay folks! Get out your decoder rings and let's see what Annie has to say!

And of course... the piece de resistance!

I so want one for my front window.
It's a major award!

The bathroom modeled after the movie.

Complete with lifebuoy soap, magic decoder ring and 'secret' message.
"A crummy commercial? Son of a..."

Elle got scared that they were gonna kill Ralphie, so she hid under the sink.

We wandered the rest of the house, but while it was pretty interesting,
I knew that it wasn't where everything was filmed.
But I'm glad I went, anyway.

We left by the back door.
This is however, the location where the backyard scenes were filmed.
During filming, everything was covered in soap flakes and fire fighters foam.

And while the shed has been refinished, it is the actual shed that a "bad guy" crawled over.

And this is the location where poor Ralphie nearly shot his eye out.

We made our way back out to the front street.
We'd been told that when the kids left the house to go to school,
they were filmed walking down the block... only to arrive at school in St. Catharines.

So Elle told Dee, "Let's run to Canada!"
and they took off!

Of course, that's basically what we did next.
We went back to the gift shop
where I got a serious case of the indecisions and wound up buying.... nothing.

After filling the tank, we headed out.

It'd been a great day so far, with DISmeets and Christmas Story movie memories.
But it wasn't over yet...
Not by a long shot.

First we still had a three and a half hour drive to Niagara Falls.
That was pretty uneventful, until we got to Rainbow Bridge.
It's not a very long bridge, but it was long to get over!
It took us about an hour to slowly crawl our way up and over to the Canadian side
where we cleared customs.

"Where do you all live?"
"Winnipeg."
"Who's with you in the car?"
"My daughter and my daughter's friend."
"Where are you coming from?"
"Winnipeg."
"Bringing in any firearms, tobacco or alcohol?"
"No."
"Are you constipated?"
"No."
(I've really got to change my facial expression!)
He hands back our passports and waves us through.

Once again, I didn't need the letters.
Two down, two more border crossings to go.

Five minutes later, we get to our hotel.
This time, it's actually still there.
Score!

Our room for the next four nights.
Girls room:

My room... yeah. I get the rack, er, pull out couch again.

It was probably somewhere close to nine o'clock at night.
And while we'd had a good lunch, and a late one, we were a bit hungry.

We set out in search of sustenance.

I was tired, but the twins of terror had napped and rested all day long,
so they were raring to go and see the sights!

Especially when they saw this in the distance.

(Yeah, I know. It's a crappy picture. But I was too tired to wait for all the lights.)

"Whoa, girls. Let's eat first, then decide if we're still awake enough, okay?"

We spotted an Italian restaurant called Mama Mia's
Nobody wanted a big meal, so we decided to split some garlic toast and we each ordered an appy.

I know I ordered French Onion soup and escargot.
I'm sure Dee ordered escargot as well,
but I don't remember what Elle got.
Maybe chicken fingers?

The toast was good, the soup was so so and the escargot was too salty.
Ah well.

By now I was beat.
I'd already driven for ten hours, albeit with a break in the middle,
and it had been a long day.
"So you guys wanna go on the Ferris wheel still?"

(Please say no, please say no, please, please, please, please, please...)

"Yeah! Let's go!" They chillingly cried out in unison.

okay.

We trekked down a few more blocks to Clifton St.
Clifton St. (photos later on in the TR) is either a tourist's dream..
or their worst nightmare.
Filled chock a block with "tourist" attractions such as:
At least two (but I think more) wax museums.
Souvenir shops.
Arcades.
Bars.
"Haunted" houses.
You get the idea.
You want nature? The Falls are down the street, go there.
You want an endless parade of wall-eyed tourists?
You've come to the right place!

You have to go into it in the right frame of mind.
We decided to have fun... and we did!
There was a mini-golf place right beside the Ferris wheel and I
(yes... I) suggested we do that after the wheel.
We walked up to the ticket kiosk and bought a pass that allowed us to do both,
as well as a 'ghost ride', access to one of the wax museums and a few tokens for the arcade.
It was a good deal since the cost was the same as buying the Ferris wheel and
mini-golf tickets separately.

Remember how I told you in the last chapter that Elle wasn't too thrilled with heights?
Keep that in mind.

Sitting in our car, waiting for the ride to start.

You can tell it hasn't gone up yet since Elle is relaxed and smiling.

Once we got going, we got our first view of the falls at night.
My point and shoot tried really hard, but this is the best it could do.

Some of the Niagara Falls skyline.

Once we reached the top, Elle started getting really nervous.
She started giggling and saying she'd never do this again.
She started joking about jumping out (no, really, she was kidding... sort of.)
Of course Dee tried to help her out by poking her and trying to rock the car.

Pretty sure that scared Elle even more.
Dee was quite pleased with herself.

She's obviously quite evil.
Of course, there's a chance later on in the trip when the tables might be turned...
Just sayin'.

After the Ferris wheel, we played our round of mini-golf.
Elle got the first hole-in-one, but Dee got more of them. (Three, I think?)
Nevertheless, when the round was over and I added up the scores.
Dee: sixty.
Elle: sixty.
A tie!
I should have insisted that loser gets the pull out couch...
I scored fifty four. :snooty:

We headed over to a nearby souvenir shop, since Dee wanted to buy a pull-over.
She didn't find one here, though.
So next we headed over to the arcade/bowling alley...
Where we were stopped at the door and told you had to be nineteen to enter.

Really?

A bowling alley that serves liquor?
Cool... but unfortunate... or considering how tired I was by now... fortunate.

Next door was the arcade where the girls could use up their free tokens.
I gave them mine to use as well.
They won a few tickets and cashed them in for rubber wrist bands, I think.

We then went on a 'ghost ride' which was a very poor imitation of Buzz Lightyear at MK,
but with ghosts, instead.
I think Dee won that round.

I'm not sure what the girls wanted to do next, but by then, whenever I looked at them, I'd see four of them.
I put my foot down and strongly suggested, in my most parental like voice, that we call it a night.
Pretty sure it was around midnight or one a.m. by now.

We walked back to the hotel and hit the sack.
Or at least I wanted to hit mine.
Once again, I had to fend off the metal bars poking through the mattress in all the most inconvenient locations.

Oh, well. Only four sleeps to go before we move on!

Coming up...
Touring the Falls! And I inherit more teenage girls!

Love the Dismeet. Even if you had to go the long way around to make it happen.

And I absolutely love, Love, LOVE!!! that you went to the Christmas Story house! We love that movie. Well, DD and I do. DH is fed up with it. DD and I know it word for word, and we love it.

Sounds like a fun (if a little tiring) evening in Niagara Falls.

The Christmas Story house!!!!!!! That's the worth the drive right there....the meet with Okitty Squared is just the icing on the cake!

Jill in CO

Ponzi, sounds like a fun meet. Nice nail, Okitty :)

Love the Christmas Story movie. How interesting about the background, never new that stuff. What a long day though. I always wanted to shout at the girls to call it a night already, LOL. And another four nights on the pull-out, oh joy!

Thanks for the chapter!

GREAT updates!!!! how fun to meet up with oh kitty squred and her "fam"! a real Ohio Deli.. sounds yummy! there was a thread recently on the Dis .about Kouizinna closing and they are adding yet another Italian restaurant. . a lot of us thought since there is hardly any counter service at the crescent lake area they should put in a "food court" with "regional" usa dishes.

some thought this should go in the American adventure pavillion at epcot. either way...usa regional food : a station with deep sish pizza, Italian beef,a nd chicaog hot dogs, deli food, ribs and 5 way chili for ohio.. cajun and creole food, soul food, etc. usa is a LOT more than hamburgers. blah hot dogs, and some tasteless pepperoni pizza!

a dis meet with carrie and a trip to cedar point sounds great!!!

what fun to do the "christmas Story tour!!!! I just love that movie!!! they shold ahve had a food stand nearby selling meatloaf/beetloaf (with red cabbage) turkey, duck, and lifebuoy soap!!!

Love the Dismeet. Even if you had to go the long way around to make it happen.

It's a long way to see o-kitty!
It's a long way, to go.

Nah. Not really.
And so worth it.

And I absolutely love, Love, LOVE!!! that you went to the Christmas Story house! We love that movie. Well, DD and I do. DH is fed up with it. DD and I know it word for word, and we love it.

Sounds like a fun (if a little tiring) evening in Niagara Falls.

Seeing the house was a blast.
Not having enough room in the car for a full size leg lamp is a travesty.

And while I was pretty much done by the end of the night,
Niagara Falls was fun.

The Christmas Story house!!!!!!! That's the worth the drive right there....the meet with Okitty Squared is just the icing on the cake!

::yes:: Ya got that right!

Ponzi, sounds like a fun meet.

It was!

Love the Christmas Story movie. How interesting about the background, never new that stuff.

There's so much more info that I could've included.
For instance:
Remember the scene when Ralphie and Randy go to see Santa and the man in line tells them to get in line?
“The line ends here! It begins there!”
That's Jean Shepherd, the narrator and author.

What a long day though. I always wanted to shout at the girls to call it a night already, LOL. And another four nights on the pull-out, oh joy!

Thanks for the chapter!

I was sooo tired by the end of the night.
Not even that horrible pull out could keep me awake for long.

But there's an even longer day ahead of me still on this trip...

GREAT updates!!!! how fun to meet up with oh kitty squred and her "fam"!

The DISmeets were definitely highlights of the trip! :goodvibes

There's good food out there... you just have to stop going to McDonalds, etc. all the time.

a dis meet with carrie and a trip to cedar point sounds great!!!

Are you proposing next summer's agenda?

what fun to do the "christmas Story tour!!!! I just love that movie!!! they shold ahve had a food stand nearby selling meatloaf/beetloaf (with red cabbage) turkey, duck, and lifebuoy soap!!!

They so should have!
Then again, they make it look so unappetizing in the movie, I don't know how well it'd sell.

Who am I kidding...
Anyone who takes the time to go there, will gladly sit down to "Christmas Story" meal.

The gift shop does sell Lifebuoy soap, though.
Almost bought some!

So I'm sitting in Nails Pro in Fargo ND, While Kay gets a manicure... The things I do for my rug rats. :sad2:

You should watch the movie Fargo while in Fargo. I bet it gives it a whole new perspective....and get a pedicure while you are at it!

sounds like a fantastic DIS meet!

What a cool place to tour! I would want to see that myself. Thanks for all of great details!

I've never been to the Falls, never really considered it, but yours is the second TR I've read about it on! I feel like I've practically been there myself.;)

:rotfl2: Poor Elle. I think I like that Dee though :rotfl2:

More teenage girls???:faint:

them.

This one doesn't.

De nada.

What? Second???
I'm not the first?

I feel so.... violated.

Yes... and,

yes. :sad2:

Joining in!

Just the other day I was talking to Shannon and bemoaning the fact that the DIS does not have a sub-forum for non-Disney trip reports because I always love reading about the other trips people take when they add mini-TRs into regular Disney TRs. Of course, Shannon had the perfect solution and sent me here! :thumbsup2

You are a brave individual to take a road trip with two teenage girls! So far, so good though!

Looking forward to reading along as the trip continues. :goodvibes

Sorry for the double post - my computer was losing its little old mind the other day......

Not a bad idea... although, I suppose I should be thankful that the mods are nice enough to let me post non Disney stuff on a Disney board!

Of course, Shannon had the perfect solution and sent me here! :thumbsup2

Smart girl, that Shan.

You are a brave individual to take a road trip with two teenage girls! So far, so good though!

Oh, but I have yet to post about the horror.

I shudder just thinking of it...

Looking forward to reading along as the trip continues. :goodvibes

Thanks for joining in!

I'm so sorry I've been absent. I have surgery tomorrow morning on my right shoulder. I have a calcified tendon and bursitis. Had a cortisone shot which only helped a little bit and not for very long. So my first surgery will be had. They want me there at 5:30am!!! Obviously they don't know me. Is anyone even awake at that hour? It's just "outpatient" at the hospital so I will be home later that day. Of course I am right handed so my time on the DIS will be effected.

Hysterical beginning to the last chapter. Of course it's completely false but funny all the same.
It was confusing if we should shake hands or hug? It was funny "Hug, shake, hug, shake, ok fine. HUG!
My DSS Kenny can be hilarious at times. When he even talks. Elle was so quiet throughout the whole meal! Dee was more talkative.
And then there was the whole "Separate checks", "No, I'm paying for everyone", "Are you sure?", "Yes just makes it easier" Yeah, right you sneaky devil!
Ponzi forget to mention the present he gave me - a bunch of Wonderbars. Of course I only got one, gave one to my DM and DSS had the rest. Pretty sure DH didn't get one.
All in all it was a great DIS meet. And my first one ever! Hope you come back this way. Cleveland isn't far and not at all out of the way!
