Teen looks, sounds like 'Frozen' heroine

I'm surprised disney hasn't done anything especially when she was at DTD. Wouldn't they want that already five hour line longer?

I read that the only thing security asked her to do at DTD was to stop signing autographs.

I'm amazed she didn't get kicked out of DTD. Both autographs and having a line (or mob I guess.. and also pretending to be a CM if she was) are major no no's even at MNSSHP, when costumes are actually encouraged.

:confused3

I saw she visits kids in hospitals though, so that is nice of her.

Interestingly, ABC News has picked the story up as well, and has noticeably NOT quoted a reaction from a company spokesman. http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/meet-anna-faith-carlson-actress-elsa-frozen/story?id=24130119

I would have thought as this woman lives in Central Florida and has actually taken her schtick onto Disney property, Disney would either ask her to audition for a character role or send her a Cease and Desist Letter. It really isn't like Disney to let someone get away with openly making money off of a character likeness without sharing with the Mother Mouse.

The kid isn't half bad, and she certainly looks a lot more like the character than the actresses currently appearing at the parks (having real hair helps immensely, but so does being the correct age.) I'm guessing that the trick with hiring her would be getting her to work for standard scale; she probably has an inflated idea of how much she should be paid to do the role. (And I mean an in-park character role, not the part she is hoping to land on prime-time television.)

I agree completely surprised disney has done nothing.

I read in an article that she does not accept payment for anything she does as Elsa. That is very smart. She is an aspiring model, actress, singer so I don't think she wants to work at Disney as just one of the Elsa's. She even said in the article she wants to play the part on OUAT! Doubt that's going to happen, but you never know. I am SURE her agent and Disney have already been talking.

She is a viral star and Disney has become very smart about protecting their brand but embracing the viral world. Disney is famous for being very very protective of their brand, but allowed a great deal of latitude with Frozen during its run and viral popularity. See the article below, one of many. They allowed all kinds of videos and only had a very few inappropriate ones removed. This was a big change but they realized the marketing power of the viral video world. Their flexibility paid off. The thousands of videos getting millions of hits probably helped Frozen reach the heights that it did.

Therefore, since she is a star, they must be careful not to "stomp" on her. And it helps she isn't making money off it. She is being smart trying to work this into a career somewhere. It is all about the attention these days.

Yeah, as long as she's not making money off it, I think Disney is unlikely to really go after her, especially if she has (viral) popularity. And if they are putting it on ABC News especially, that's basically giving Disney the stamp of a approval. (My guess is they've probably privately told her on to go on Disney property again dressed as Elsa - that's a big Disney no-no.)

Wasn't there just an article about a girl kicked out of one of the WDW parks for looking too much like Tinkerbell in her costume? I am surprised Disney has let this continue.

Oh, and she looks so much more like Elsa than our "Elsa" did when we visited. :)

The DTD property is owned by Disney, but it's not part of one of the gated parks, subject to the dress codes prohibiting costumed adults.
This young lady seems smart enough to be careful not to get antagonistic with the Disney folks, but I assume that Disney is probably considering modifications to their rules for DTD, to keep others from appearing in costume.
I'm sure Disney doesn't want DTD to turn into "Times Square Florida", with folks in tatty costumes posing for pictures "for free".
:clown:

I'm amazed they didn't hire her on the spot and train her up to be honest.

I would bet dollars to donuts she has been offered the opportunity to try out for playing Elsa. I would also bet that she is not interested. She is trying to build her moment of viral fame into a career in acting/singing/modeling and becoming another one of the Elsa's at Disney would make her no longer a news story and nothing particularly special. By doing all she can to keep herself in the news and viral while not working for Disney is probably the best way to go. She is being smart by not making Disney mad and not making money... yet.

I find watching the new viral path to fame and/or fortune fascinating. I have a friend who now makes a substantial 6 figure income making videos of his kids in those battery powered cars! The possibilities are endless! Smart business types are turning such viral fame into lasting financial success. Whatever he does for a living, Grumpy cat's owner can retire now. And it is nice that men in fine suits sitting in offices are no longer in control of the music and entertainment.

Her goal is to snag an audition for Once Upon a Time since Elsa is being included now.

That is what I have seen, her dreams go beyond face character at the parks.

& maybe I am weird in thinking that yes she looks like elsa when in costume with hair and makeup done that way, but so do a lot of long haired, thin, blonde 18-23 year olds I know. :confused3
More power to her though because it's totally working for her.

I don't think she really looks all that much like Elsa. The best Elsa I've seen is a photoshopped image of Mary Kate and Ashley as Anna and Elsa. OUAT should get both of them for next season.

Dye your hair platinum blonde, get a costume and some make up and anyone could be Elsa. I don't think she looks like her all.

I think she has the right face shape, eyes, and complexion, but so do 20% of all women! But I think she and her sister do a great job (I watched an interview.) I think she looks much more like Elsa then any of the Olsens!!
