As you see from my siggy I have teen boys. Even the young ones act older, obviously. My kids have never asked for much, even bdays and Christmas. So what is everyone else getting their teen boys?

I don't have many ideas for mine either, my two boys are 13 and 10-my 10 year old is more teenage than younger too. I am thinking a tv for their room. They just moved into one larger room together because they have recently become more like great friends! My younger one wants one of the new 3dsXL and my older one wants a "Hecter the Rejecter" for his Lacrosse goal. I'm lost other than that. I'd love ideas too.
Oh and they want an upgrade on their iPhones from a 3g to a 4s! That may be done as they are lower priced now.

Lucky you!:rotfl: My ds (15) wants a new HP laptop, expensive headphones, several video games and to update his i phone 4s to the new 5!:faint:

My 15yo, soon to be 16yo, son wants ibeats and a Nintendo 3DS.

My only problem is that he goes through earbuds like water, and the $100 price on the ibeats is a bit much, considering the reviews are not very good.

His main features he wants/needs on an earbud is a flat cord and volume control on the cord.

He already has a DS and a DSi, but with the new Pokemon game coming out for the 3DS, he wants that. I am sure there will be a BF deal on it.

Lucky for us, his birthday is in December, so he can get one big gift then (he already had an early birthday gift in July - we took him and 2 friends to Great Wolf Lodge) and one for Christmas.

Mine are getting a skiing trip. They don't need any more electronics to be grounded from. :lmao:

LOL. When DS gets in trouble, I confiscate his ipod. OMG! That is the way to do it! He hates having to go back to his old Sanyo MP3 player. Losing his ipod touch is torture!!

DS16 wants new headphones. Other than that, I'll probably go through the Thinkgeek website and find some fun Tshirts/silly gifts. That's a popular site for him and his friends.

Oh and possibly some movie tickets or other "experience" type things he can do with friends.

Ds14 got Monster refurbished headphones that retail for $299. They were cheaper, and he doesn't know the difference.

I had to chime in on this one. DD has the iPhone and it is hands down the best motivator in my arsenal. Even the mere suggestion of taking it away gets her room cleaned in record time:rotfl:

My DS13 has requested a new shotgun since he is trying out for the school shooting team, a new ipod touch and new games. Yea not gonna happen. I told him to pick one that he really wants.

Teen age girls.

:rotfl2:

My boys have been having a hard time coming up with ideas this year for themselves. Some of the things they're either asking for or have gotten in the past and liked are:

Xbox games
bow and arrow/target
airsoft gun
paintball equipment
more current ipod (mine are probably getting this because theirs are about 4 years old and they're taken really good care of them so I can pass them down to the younger kids)
funny t-shirts (Busted Tees or Snorgtees)
sports team sweatshirts
money and/or gift cards. Gift cards will be for food and movies (the closest I can get to the aforementioned teenage girls :rotfl:)
remote control helicopter
ipod dock
guitar

That's all that's coming to me right now.

Equipment for whatever sports team they're on, mine bowl in leagues so they get things they need for that.

Agree!! My son is younger but this sums up how I feel perfectly!

My DS is 16, and I'm mostly getting him stuff for his car. Gift cards for a local car wash, detailing products/accessories, some safety stuff to keep in the trunk, a set of personalized Mickey floormats. :) It's just an '02 Civic, but that is his baby and his freedom -- he adores his car! :goodvibes

I am having the hardest time with my ds13. He has just about everything- I know lucky kid! We don't give much during the year so we like to splurge at Christmas.

He's asked for:
some kind of special parts (handle bars and deck) for his scooter :confused3
Xbox live gift card, boring......
Madden 13 for xbox, we already have a Madden game for xbox

What I have for him already:
University of Arizona (since we live in Tucson) comforter set
NFL greats dvds
Diary of Wimpy Kid new book on pre-order
Jack Skellington PJ bottoms

He would love an iphone but he's not getting one. He has a basic phone and thats all he gets until he can pay the data plan every month. He got a small flat screen tv for his room last year. He has a bb gun and an airsoft gun he got a couple of years ago. He also got the Tebow Denver Broncos jersey last year. He has a basketball hoop in the backyard that he got about 4 years ago and a fairly new bike that his grandparents got him 3 years ago. He has an ipod touch that he bought with his own money (saved for a year for that thing :cool1:). We had an ihome type alarm clock dock that no one was using so took it to his room and he uses everyday to listen to his ipod while he does his homework.

He's not into clothes or shoes or brands.

I'm just tired of trying to come up with ideas. He's a rather simple kid. Help!

You say you're having a hard time shopping for him, but yet the things he's asked for, you're unceremoniously dismissing... this doesn't make sense.

Can you get him perhaps a gift certificate to a specialty shop that would have the scooter parts he's after? Sounds as though you aren't familiar enough with the specifics to actually buy the items for him... I wouldn't know either :)

The xBox live card may be boring, but makes a great stocking stuff, and if it's something he'll enjoy, maybe that's not so bad.

Though you quickly dismissed Madden 13 on the basis of already having a madden game, why not consider it anyway? I get the sense he's fairly into sports... many of the sports titles that are released yearly are actually enjoyed by some sports fans, as they include updated rosters, scheduling rules, and the like, as well as incremental improvements to the gameplay itself.

Anyway, I'd start there... may not be exciting gifts to you... but sounds like they're pretty exciting to him!

While I don't have children(I like acting like one more then I want one anytime soon) but I do have a 23 year old boyfriend! This year he's getting non-iron dress shirts which won't help but maybe years past ideas will!

Last Christmas his big ticket item from me was Ugg slippers, and all of our friends(24-21) are really into slip on shoes right now. I've told them for YEARS how amazing slip on shoes finally they believe me! They all wore boat shoes in the spring and summer and now are making their way into hard bottomed furry smoking slippers or loafers.

Previously to that(we've been together for 6 years)I bought him Parks and Rec, the Office, The Simpson on dvd/blueray which stinks because now he has netflix. Madden which I am never buying again because it freezes and the past few years has really been on decline. So I have no suggestions there other then just buy them whatever video games they want.

During highschool and college my boyfriend wasn't really into books, but now he reads on his train ride to work. I usually buy him books I've read before and liked. For MY 17th birthday I bought him the first harry potter book because I couldn't believe he hadn't read them, he went on to read all of them and love them. Eragon(he didn't like), the hobbit and LOTR along with the matching dvds (he even asked his parents for the extended blueray versions last year for Christmas so I guess it was a hit), and Earthsea. This year Im going with game of thrones. Around his birthday he said people in his office like it, I personally haven't read it because my dad told me it was a LOTR with sex(which I have no interest in reading about) and tons of violence, probably not for anyone under 18. Other books that might work are Dune or Odd Thomas.

Also lots of polos and funny socks. Yea, I said it, funny socks. When he was in high school his football team had this thing who would wear the funniest socks. Now its translated in work socks that have some sort of funny but professional design. I've bought him socks with whales, reindeer, bears, anchors, flying pigs and argyle. But I would ask you're sons if they are into that before getting them, it might just be where I'm from lol.

I hope some of this helped. :santa:

Current plan: My DS13 has been doing extra stuff around the house to earn money to buy a desktop gaming computer for six months or so. His laptop is not the greatest...a pretty cheap one to let him play around with and its a few years old. So, although he does not know it, he is getting a desktop computer. It's a whole lot more than we usually spend...but it's been a few years since we have really been able to surprise him with something.
