I've used the kids journal (that jtanddolly has --Thanks!) many times, but my kids are getting too old for it. I'm taking 6 13-16 yr olds to Disney this summer, several of them for their first visit and I wanted to give them something as well as the the kids' journal I made for the 2 8-yr olds that are going with us. I also didn't want to use a whole bunch of ink. Well, over the last two months, I came up with a journal that was created in Microsoft Word so it can be edited. The 2 month time frame does not at all mean it is super special (I wish I had the talent of the people on this board!) but is more due to my hectic lifestyle and the fact I had to make 8 of these.

I used blank postcards to make the book 5" X 8" - got them here http://www.amazon.com/Pendaflex-Oxf...49KU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1306195912&sr=8-1 and had them bound at Staples.

I put the park hours and our tentative schedule first with a packing list, then travel info like our flight confirmation numbers and baggage rules, then Magical Express info, ADRs, then some facts about our resort. The next section was a journal with a page for each day. The final sections are some info about each area in each park including what attractions, entertainment and dining are found in each part. I stuck some autograph pages at the end by DD's request. There is also a pocket where I put each girls ticket and a gift card, and a space to put maps / paperwork on the back cover.

I'll post pictures of some of the pages. If anyone wants a copy of the word file, PM me and I'd be happy to email it out. I have it formatted for printing on the front and back of each page.

Thank you so much for sharing your work. It really is appreciated :goodvibes

Would you be so kind to post a pic of the pocket on the back cover.

My mind is working overtime on how to do it and it's having a hard time!!

Thanks again

How I made this was trim a piece of cardstock to 8" x 11" then folded it in half to be 5 1/2 x 8. Then I trimmed off a triangle diagonally from the fold down to about halfway down the open side of one of the halves cutting a curvy edge. I stapled it together at the bottom and covered the staples with a border. The open end was held together with the spiral binding so it was only open at the top. To add some detail, I put a piece of mickey scrapbook paper glued on the inside of the folded cardstock so it showed when I cut off the edge.

If you look at the back of the pocket, it's just plain black with the bottom border and looks like the cover without the name.

The way I made this page was similar except I cut the cardstock so it was 5 1/2" wide by 11" then folded it the other way -- just folded 3" up and stapled the outside edge (again covering staples with a border). The back side of this one is all green.

Wow that looks really great.

You should think about selling your journals. I saw some Mickey Journals online for £20 GBP about $30

I'm going to make my journal this weekend. Have nearly finished adapting your files to our trip.

Thank you again

Nikki

I think I may have to make one of these for my daughter. Now, if I can just get some time without my nosey daughter hanging around me! We are keeping the trip a secret from the kids...so it's even harder to get anything done!
